We should put on some high school varsity jackets up there while we're at it!!! Stop this jinx fans give the team any season we start off strong.
Yeah not even just that though. Even if he can tolerate the pain, his throws would be affected by the sprain. Unless they think Brissett is Brian Hoyer terrible, that's who will start.
OMG a highlight?! Now I'm worried, do they even need Brady to come back? I mean this kid killed it in the preseason, we should ask Belicheck if he is open to trading us Brady since he doesnt need him anymore. Preseason is preseason, college is college. Until I see it in the regular season it means nothing. I wish we had that big arm, big body Jamarcus Russel right now...
jimmy garrapollo doesnt have any physical tools at all, hes like a jimmy clausen, outside of that patriots system he's naked. Brissett could flourish in any system, wouldnt be shocked to see jj watt huffing and puffing trying to bring down brissett, he is really strong, and sneaky quick
been a while since i heard jamarcus russell's name remmeber vince young was supposed to be jamarcus russell, but he kept winning as a starter( eventually he was blackballed from the league) then i think cam got the jamarcus treatment then winston etc now college football is being overrun with jamarcus's.. wow
Vince Young basically was Jamarcus Russell. Just a complete moron that couldn't learn the playbook even after several years. At one point I expected a lot out of Vince Young, but it turns out the Wonderlic was spot on about him. He really is dumber than a bag of hammers.
Btw...just want to point out...Bill Belichick is a master of deception and misdirection. If you think that Garapolo wont be starting...you dont know Bill. The dude has trolled with the media thinking the rookie may start...but dont be surprised if they run the darn ball every time and make short throws... Jimmy can do that. In Bill's mind...there is 2 more weeks before his top dog returns...he will run these backups into the ground before Brady returns. That being said, I really believe Belichick has to be worried about this teams defense. The Texans really have been stout up front...and in order to beat them, they have to have someone that can test the sidelines with our secondary. This may really be the only chance to beat the Patriots at home (next to impossible task otherwise)... OBrien has to prepare this team to win in the trenches.
Something to keep an eye on. Clowney may have reinjured his linsfranc injury last game. He just showed up on the injury report with a foot.
I don't see any scenario where the Pats even have the ability to test us vertically. If I were O'Brien I'd sell out against the run and the short passing game. Employ exotic blitzes and different looks post-snap the formation you have going in. Brisett will have a night full of "welcome to the NFL, rookie" moments.
Having to play as an interior defensive lineman might be starting to wear him down a bit. He did drop 15 lbs before this season so he's particularly not suited for a DE role in this defense even though he's been pulling it off.
