What I meant was if the Texans didn't put a red flag on him, they probably had some pretty solid background on him disputing any evidence of chronic juicing (or maybe that he was through juicing/taking PED's if he had done it years ago). With the way that they run away from any potential bad character or off-the-field issue guys, surely they would have taken him off the draft board if they had any question at all.

And I have a hard time believing that one team would find damning evidence that he abused steroids while the Texans found absolutely none.

I still don't think he was doing pure anabolic steroids. He doesn't look like he is on them and he's not stupid enough to do them. My guess is still that he took some PED for his knee and tried to cover it up with the hcg. He cheated and will pay the consequence- it doesn't mean he's a steroid abuser, though.

Cushing is going to hold a news conference at 1:00pm Thursday. I'm sure HoustonTexans.com will carry it live.

Oh, the "just using it to get back from injury" defense - yeah that's really worked so many times before!

LOL...that made me laugh...yeah, I'm of the camp where he is innocent until proven guilty...that said, I believe he was clean after the initial test and thus, his play showed how good he is...It's unfortunate it's tainted, but as previously shown, other ROY's had similar problems and kept their award, w/o a revote...

Eh, I don't blame anyone who won't give the benefit of the doubt, because I never did with baseball players over the past several years that all of the names came out. But I still stand by my opinion that I don't think he's a chronic steroid user ... and in my mind, there is a big difference between using a PED (one that is legal/over the counter) and using anabolic steroids. And again, I don't think Cushing is stupid enough to use anabolic steroids.

And I think it's very possible that plenty of players risk a four game suspension and "just use it to get back from injury", especially at critical times in their career.

I really hope we find out what he was taking today, but I have a strong feeling that we won't. If he just sits their and says that his hcg level was naturally high, it will look way worse for him.

    Why would you think that?

The guy got busted for using the exact same hormone rebalancer that Manny Ramirez did , around the exact same time period. There's really not much of a logical reason for him to be using a female fertility drug unless his hormones were out of wack....how else do you think that would happen?

Honestly, at this point so many people have gotten away with it for so long, you could argue that he'd be stupid NOT to use them.

agreed. I would like for him to list what could have caused it and not just dismiss it as them being wrong. But i have a feeling that he will say "i've never used steroids"...which may very well be true, however that doesnt mean he wasnt using something else

HCG has to be injected and is not over the counter it is prescription only. It is actually worse for you than taking pure testosterone because it puts your balls on overdrive chemically to jump start them back up after a cycle.

Just because you realize he did roids does not mean you have to hate him. He will still be good.

Is it not possible that he used the hcg to counterbalance the effects of a legal (yet banned from the NFL) supplement? I'm just not convinced he would use an illegal substance with such a stigma attached to it. I wouldn't be shocked if he did, but I don't assume he did either. All I'm arguing is that perhaps he used a legal supplement/PED ... just one that is banned by the NFL. Still cheating, I know, but in my mind there is a difference.

If it was a legal supplement how did the HCG get in his system? It is an injectable hormone.

I'm with you on this -- the cheating sucks regardless, but it seems less heinous if he's cheating with legal stuff than with illegal stuff.
