He probably should have never been moved there in the first place. Bentley was technically the backup to Demeco anyway right? Why not put him there to begin with.
I thought I heard a 610 host speculating that moving Cushing to MLB was probably influenced by Bob McNair, who reportedly attends team meetings every week in person. Everybody seemed to be in agreement that it was a bad move and that Kevin Bentley should have been the natural replacement.
This staff of coaches don't know what to do, I think that the texans have reached there high point with this staff and will not get any better. I think its time for a change. Unfortunately, Bob is not worried about winning as much as he is worried about profit. So i don't expect a coaching change any time soon.
all is for not if they just keep rushing 4 and not sending anyone extra on a blitz. When in doubt, blitz. The kids are going to get toasted anyways, but with a nice hit on the Qb..it might rattle him to throw a bad pass.
I want to see Sharpton out there at MLB instead of Bentley. I really liked what I saw out of him the preseason. Like Troy Nolan, he just kept making plays whether creating turnovers or making tackles. I never have been a fan of Kevin Bentley. I don't think he is anything more than a special teamer. Kubiak said Nolan was going to get more playing time as well.
I concur. Hell, if we are going with the rookies in the secondary, we might as well go with the more talented rookie in the lb corps
What does that have to do with the Texans moving Cushing to middle linebacker and than moving him back to outside linebacker?
The genius of John McClain, regarding the common sense shift back: Nothing but the best at the Chronicle.
What does it matter where there are in the standing, shouldn't they always maximize their chances of winning? Man, McClain has lost it. Really needs to retire.
Good, I don't understand why Bentley wasn't playing MLB to begin with. It makes no sense to play both guys out of position
Lol. Wow, that is some genius interpretation there. This whole "1 game out" is a load of crap. The sad reality is that even if we do the unthinkable and sweep these last 4 division games, we still have to find a way to win at least two out of Jets, Ravens, Eagles, and Broncos and that would likely only put us in a tiebreak situation. The Colts are going to win 10 games from the looks of their schedule (they'll beat the Bengals, Cowboys, Titans once, Jaguars, and Raiders at minimum, and maybe the Chargers too). They've taken their lumps so far but you know they are going to take care of the lesser teams. We had our chance to seize the opportunity and we blew it.
This should be the most telling game for Cushing regarding the PEDs. Back in his natural position, and moving to the middle on nickel packages should allow him a lot more freedom. No excuses if he plays uninspired this week. Lots of Gerrard/Lewis hookups to test his coverage, and lots of MJD runs to test his run support/tackling.
