Btw, even though I voted for AB, I am happy to see Martin getting most votes here and in favorite player poll because he deserves it. He has played great for us in so many games. Happy to see him get credits for it. Also, Scola probably might have gotten more votes if he had played like he did at the start of season in last 8 games. And also, if he had good support at center that could have hid his defensive weaknesses.
AB is a good leader. When he played well in the 4th quarter, other rockets players seemed to be more confident and fight harder.
Being that none of the guys mentioned can play a lick of defense, I will go with the best offensive player. Martin.
I like Brooks, but why do you guys think he's clutch? Sometimes he hits late 4th quarter baskets, but just as often, I can remember him missing late 4th quarter free throws
Even though Scola and Martin are our best scorers, they are probably the worst defenders on the team. Lowry is starting to hold on to the ball way too long. AB is getting his groove back but he still can't lead the team yet. So the best rockets player in my opinion is Chuck Hayes. Followed by the combination of Brooks/Lowry on the court at the same time. Hayes is a great defender, his ft percentage is around the 70s, higher then Scola. And he can make layups like no other.
Well, he is more clutch out of these 3.. in fact, whole team. With 20 seconds to go, game tied, I will give Brooks ball before anyone else in the team.
To me, the best player is the guy you give the ball to when the game hangs in the balance. Easy choice -- Aaron Brooks.
he's the best 1-on-1 player we have on the team down the stretch <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/j5aKHrtpiws?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/j5aKHrtpiws?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object> <object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tos_PvTNhlY?fs=1&hl=en_US"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Tos_PvTNhlY?fs=1&hl=en_US" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>
I think he can definitely qualify for "favorite player" because of his improvement and effort, but it's hard for him to qualify for best player. I am assuming best player means most talented player. Hayes is not that talented.. I like PPat talent more than Hayes because of his mid range shots and overall built. He just needs experience to get better. Since, we are talking about currently - can't put him as best. So, I think choices are right; it's gotta be one out of Brooks, Martin and Scola. After those 3, it's gotta be Kyle. Source: 2k11 ratings Martin - 81 Scola - 81 Brooks - 80 Lowry - 78 Battier - 76 Williams - 76 Patterson - 74 Lee - 71 BUD - 70 Hill - 69 Hayes - 68 Miller - 66 Jefferies - 62 Smith - 62
If you are asking currently than that is a more difficult question. But after much deliberation I still believe it is Yao. Yes even in a boot cast Yao would command a double team. He can shoot over anyone and make most of them one on one. Defensively he could just stand there and do better than Hill or Miller. So I vote for other.
Wow all three players that are listed are the three that people in this forum want to be traded. It just shows the stupidity of the people in this forum.
Kevin Martin is the best player in quarter: 1, 2 and 3 but in the 4th quarter Aaron Brooks is the best.
To me, Brooks is the only player on this team with special talents. No he's not elite player special, but the fact he can hit contested shots against any defense gives him special talents. Regardless of what posters say, his quickness and shot making isnt easy to replace.
