I just figured if your gonna mention waste of a roster space Fortson - than why not at least mention Machado - at least the dude passes the rock
Neither of them are making this team, so forgetting both is fine! 3 guaranteed PGs on the roster, 2 of which are like 6'5. The other hit 9 3pts in 1 game! Machado cant shoot, can barely defend, no lateral quickness, all he has are passing abilities which...sadly for a non contending team isnt exactly enough to keep him around.
I wonder if you've seen Livingstone play PG since his return from his injury? For years he's been playing as a 2/3. We have 2 PGs on the roster, one of whom is a "chucker" (Douglas). Fortson or Machado have a real shot at making the roster, I'd be shocked if one of them isn't there.
hmm...I haven't heard any word on whether E'Twaun Moore was ever waived which would make his contract partially guaranteed. I think we have our 3rd string pg/sg..
Are you talking about Douglas? If you are you are in for a rude awakening. You do not want TD playing any guard position as a back up. Douglas is completely useless. So he hit 9 3's in one game? Everything else he has done in his career has been mediocre. The guy has absolutely no confidence. Doesn't know how to run an offense. Just saying.
Indeed, no idea why we didn't just keep Camby, forego on signing Asik and sign Machado who at least can play PG. Then we would have enough money to even chase another free agent guard if necessary.
The problem with Camby is that at his age, he's just not capable of playing the 30 minutes a night necessary as a starter. We saw that last year. Asik obviously would have no problems doing that if he can stay out of foul trouble, which is something we've seen many Euros have trouble with and then adjust to.
I'd rather Boykins be the backup point than what we have at the moment. The play of the PG's in summer league was god awful.
Totally forgot about Big Earl, he indeed is a nice veteran presence we could need for these young guns, especially Lin.
