So what's the actual knock on monta Ellis? His defense average?

Bcuz he puts up 20+ ppg 1.5 stl 45% shooting (dwill has 41%) 6 assist a game. He's one of the fastest players w/ the ball.

Parker + monta quickest backcourt in the draft. I can swap green in if hill suffers old man syndrome. Along w/ Bynum and josh smith would be crazy.

Looking at advanced stats, in 10/11 his SG opponents shot 52.0% eFG while he shot 49.7% eFG. The team gave up 112.9 ppg with him on the court and only 106.5 when he was off. On offense, Golden State made 108.7 ppg with Monta on the court, 109 without him. Opposing teams shot 51.3% eFG with him on the field, 49.2% eFG with Monta off the court. Rebounding for Golden State also went down 2-3% when he was on the court.

You see, basically he hurts the team when he hits the court. All the highlights are just a smoke screen.

The advanced stats are a bit better with Milwaukee, but that was just half a season and his career speaks for itself. Think you get the idea now.

Dumb to blame that on one player. 2011 was different in 2012. New team, new teammates. His defense isn't great but at least he's a productive scorer

maybe when monta is on the floor he's guarding a PG instead of SG.. Maybe the opponents bring on their best player while monta is on the bench.. there's a lot of scenario to look at.. advance stats is full of flaws, you can't really tell anyone if they are good on defense by looking at those stats.. it's garbage

It also shows the opponent's PG stats, look again. Just sent him the simple sites, there are more detailled ones but that would take time.

Monta is playin 35+ minutes, I highly doubt the opponents bring their best player in just when he's out. Also, he's guardin SGs most of the time, look at the actual games.

What do you think guys like Morey and other NBA guys are doin, advanced stats are on of the most important indicators.

Not blamin it on one guy, just sayin in every single season and with two teams he always brought the net production down and the opponents scored and rebounded more efficiently. There's a truth in that.

when your team sucks like the bobcats.. what do you expect about those stats? or if you are with the miami heat and play along side LeBron, Dwade, Bosh? It's basically the whole team not individual matchups, there are things that are not documented in this advance stats.. I know it can be used as a basis or basic idea of on how the player is doing, but that's not all, that's why scouts are going into the players game to evaluate them, it's not always about stats..

Even if you play on a bad team or a great team the net points in addition to your match-ups eFG and other indicators will give you an idea of how the player changes the outcome of a game. Watch Monta play for a few games and you see he wouldn't suddenly become a great defender in a team like Miami.

I know, I know. But we are not basin this solely on these playoffs, otherwise guys like Wade, George, Hayward would suddenly be crap and Holiday would ge top tier.

Also, George played great D on Wade. Don't forget that he now has great players around him to help, he doesn't need to carry the scoring load.
