Agree, FA was a bad idea. The guys that drafted wisely and took care of their salary should have an advantage.
I would not have taken him if there was free agency. Now that there is.... I can grab all the big contracts left and amnesty Amare if needed.
I was preparing for no FA. I drafted wisely and had 5 mill left for a player. But the FOR free agency vote won, so I guess I will pick up the big contracts
i agree re free agency. i was against it too when we voted at the start. But I wanted some kind of reduced free agency. Where you can cut a guy if you screw up, but can only add under 1 mil replacements. That way, people don't get disqualified for bad math, but better planning also remains an advantage. ...but at this point, it would've been unfair to cancel it. There are some guys who built their teams on assumption of free agency. I think RedNation said he did. That's not a screw up. That's a different strategy. Unfair to punish people for utilizing the rules.
Let's agree we don't do FA next time, drafting wisely should be the point of this. What's the point when you are able to unload and sign other guys after all this.
End of the game defensive possessions I can trot out Avery Bradley, Tony Allen, Shawn Marion, Nic Collison and Kevin Garnett. GL scoring on that.
Next draft we should do 10rds for 65mill and no FA... that way smart gms who know how to manage cap would be awarded... also it would add an element of difference and excitement to the game... different draft strategies... players will drop because of cap reasons while others will get snatched up early because of low salary... Thoughts...?
