Blech, nope. Leon may end up being as popular as Kramer, but he's a black J. Peterman/David Puddy: just an innocuous class/personality stereotype.
great analogy. Larry Charles is indeed part of the thread that brought success to two of the best shows in television history... pretty, pretty, pretty good...
that's the most idiotic reasoning i have ever come across just because a person, in his comedy act mind you, says the n-word a few times because at that moment he thought it was funny (his reasoning at the time actually compares to yours) doesn't make him a racist.
Both are hilarious and very well done. I love Curb and it truly is great but Seinfeld gets the nod because it reached a larger audience (on NBC as opposed to HBO) and it being first does help.
Seinfeld. Didn't have to think twice. While I enjoy Curb, Seinfeld remains the standard by which all following sitcoms will be measured, and will come up short. And, with all due respect, whoever brings up the antics of any of the stars of Seinfeld after the end of the series as a way to criticize it, well, you're a goofus! :-D-
Seinfeld has some great parts that are missing on Curb, like Frank Costanza and Steinbrenner. Also, my favorite episode from either is the Chinese restaurant from Seinfeld. On the Curb side (heh) they can do more than they could on Seinfeld both because it is a cable show and Jerry doesn't work blue. I think I have to give the nod to Seinfeld, but both in the top echelon of television shows.
Curb has too much "whining jew" humor. If I wanted that, I'd watch a Woody Allen movie. While Seinfeld had a lot of writing from Larry David, the characters didn't come across as poorly.
I personally enjoy it when Larry goes all Hebrew on a waitress. Leon, Crazy Eyes Killer, so many hilarious black stereotypes on Curb. Gotta go with the Sein still though, even though Curb is trendier and meta.
