The coaches dare not talk to Harden about it. Every time Harden plays a dominant share of the PG the Rockets' offense and defense struggle. It's very strange because Harden does get a lot of ASTs and make some brilliant passes. But for some reason Harden is not able to get his teammates involved as much as Jeremy often does. I give up hope on the current coaches for the development of Harden. His defense has gotten worse so far this season.

This post made me laugh out loud. Seriously, what does a HOF point guard know about point guard play? Calvin Murphy is an unabashed LOF.

It definitely has something to do with his heavy minutes and injured keen/foot. Lin didn't play good defense during those 7-game Linsanity run when he played heavy minutes(except the Nets game).

We'll have to wait, because Morey is holding out for Doritos and the Hostess Lays teams are currently offering for him won't cut it. And yes, Jeremy is the great leader of the Houston Rockets.

I believe McHale is using Lin correctly.

Lin doesn't have the stamina of Harden and the other players mentioned and it shows on the road and in back-to-backs.

    Lin FG%

    3+ days rest: 50.0%
    2 days rest: 48.7%
    1 days rest: 46.0%
    0 days rest: 36.9%

    Home: 47.1%
    Road: 41.4%

32 mpg is about right for him. Keeps him fresher.

There is no conspiracy against Lin. I'd be the first to complain if there was.

As for Sampson, the Rockets had some success with Douglas closing games. Douglas turned the ball over less and was shooting over 40% from 3-point land before the team signed Beverley. When Beverley started taking Douglas' minutes, Toney lost confidence and wasn't the same player/shooter he was during the first 2 1/2 months of the season. Now the Rockets are stuck with Beverley a horrific backup point who's averaging a pathetic 1.0 ppg on 0.10% shooting over the past six games, while going scoreless in five of them. This team is toast.

I guess we are all entitled to our opinions. If you don't really like listening to those 1000 crazy relatives, you can do so. After all, you're dating the solid 7 and not the 1000 crazy ones unless you don't have a bone inside you to ignore those 1000 crazy ones.

Repped! I dislike LOFs and LOHs to some degree because of their prejudice and overreactions but I really like this team especially Lin because he just simply work his a$$ without any complaints and always within the team context. He respects his teammates and the coaching staff too much which is a good thing and sometimes a bad thing also especially when he loses his assertiveness. That said, this can be easily corrected with experience. Some people can't just wait for him to deliver. I just hope this team continues to learn and be better even with all the LOHs and LOFs hanging around. I believe we're just a player or two away from really contending.

The reason Jeremy doesn't get as many shots when he is playing PG is that he is doing his job well. When the ball is moving properly in this offense it should end up at an open shooter. Shooters like Parsons, Delfino, Patterson (before trade), benefit greatly from this which is why they shoot so much relatively. If the team wanted Lin to score more they would feature him in PnR with multiple PnRs to get him lanes to the basket. But in this system they don't do that even for Harden because that would require set plays which the Rockets don't seem too rely much on. The thing this team has to get better at at this point in the season (since they can't change their system) is shot selection by the shooters and Harden choosing to limit his iso plays. Personally, I don't the coach tells the team to iso Harden but rather Harden will take it upon himself to iso up at the top when it gets to crunch time. I'm sure he does this with the best of intentions, but he has to learn to trust Lin and the rest of the team more. I think he will change because he has already. I remember he used to dominate from the beginning of games but since the all-star break he has really bought into the idea that the whole team needs to get into the groove before he does. So now you rarely see Harden featured in the beginning of the games.

i see what you're trying to say, but when he gets 25 minutes and sits the entire 4th quarter despite playing well and being aggressive like the 2nd mavs game? is he really the only person to blame?

Lin, because of his inconsistent play, is a liability as a starter.

For those who doesn't know Calvin Murphy. Think first before you diss the old man. He's a certified Rockets' fan alright and not a LOF...

Calvin Murphy was drafted by the San Diego Rockets (now the Houston Rockets) as the first pick in the second round (18th overall) of the 1970 NBA Draft. In his first season, Murphy was nominated to the NBA All-Rookie team. A diminutive guard at 5 feet 9 inches (175 cm), Murphy was known for his quickness and defensive ability.[2]

Murphy was one of the best free-throw shooters ever, setting NBA records for most consecutive free throws made and for the highest free throw percentage in a single season (1980-1981). Both records have since been broken. He set many other records within the Rockets organization, including that of all-time leading scorer until that record was broken in 1994 by Hakeem Olajuwon. The Rockets made it to the NBA Finals in 1981, losing to the Boston Celtics in six games. After retiring from the NBA in 1983, Calvin Murphy was inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1993.[2]

The last few games, he's a little bit more consistent. Give him some time.
