I can tell most people wish Lin and team success. Only few people never like the idea to give lin a chance for whatever reason.

    Uh... lol wut?

Sports2012 is one of the most irrational LOFs on this forum. Guess you haven't seen his posts much.

I've tried to reason with him and posters like him. My comment didn't concern you, so there's no need for you to butt in.

But aren't BB IQ "fans" kind of a subjective item? No offense Clutch but some peeps stated that playing Beverly meant no drop off in Defense and only slightly in offense. Every stat shown sideways shows that Lin is a superior defender, one of two of the best on the team and his offense, though he struggles from time to time, is LIGHTYEARS ahead of Beverly's.

What I find more hilarious is the wanton nature by many on this board, mostly the older posters, who for some reason are blinded by such hate for a certain type of poster on this board, to actually wish a player on the Rockets to suck. Last I checked that's kind of the pot calling the kettle black. Older posters hate on "LOFs" for being a fan of one player over team. Yet by wishing Lin to suck more, doesn't this inherently infringe on the "TEAMS" success? I mean it reeks of hypocrisy.

Blinded by hate for the fans of a player, we immediately have to hate on the player. Nice.

I mean I guess nice find on this article that you so completely disagree with.

Hate to tell you man. You come up short on this one.

Yeah, I don't understand why this BS article was posted anyway when the OP clearly disagrees with it. I guess OP was just bored and wanted to rile up the trolls.

WOW!! You fit lynching into the shackles thread! I think Jeremy has almost become an honorary black slave at this point.

    WWMLKD?

And to be completely fair, I have been laughing at Tinman for almost 15 years.

Lets not forget the "REAL" Rockets fans who didn't even know that Houston didn't start off....not in Houston.

Or who hates on players like TMac for "quitting", yet idolizes the most horrendous quitter in Rockets history Vernon Maxwell.

    Here a quote from NBA.com

" Disgruntled after the team obtained guard Clyde Drexler, Maxwell took a leave of absence during the postseason and missed the team's second championship. "

Let me make that clear. He quit on his team and left during the playoffs. IN their second championship run.

Vernon is the epitome of quitter/loser/vile loser in Rockets history. Not mention an overall terrible person. Lets not talk about how he gave a girl herpes knowingly and THEN filed bankruptcy in order not to pay his damages.

We all as posters choose to be a fan of a player. At least the LOFs' aren't a fan of a Rockets quitter/terrible person.

When you look at great players like Tim Duncan etc., there shouldn't be much discussion of a player like Jeremy Lin.

David Robinson and Tim Duncan, 2 best players with great character. San Antanio is a lucky town.

and of course your take has nothing to do with the relevancy of the article,
but keep posting at least you are involved in the site.

Man this is too much. I'm Asian American and came to this forum only b/c JLin moved from the Knicks to Houston. And I'm sick of all of this JLin nonsense that goes on here. Really sick of it.

So here goes -- and I know this will make the tiniest of dents, but I'll feel better saying it.

LOH's -- I got nothing to say here except, there will always be haters. What I have to say is more for the LOF's, because I'm gonna do the "be the better man/woman" bit now.

LOF's (and I will bet a million dollars that the 2012/2013ers are a non-trivial % of Asians and Asian Americans) -- I understand you are proud of JLin. I am too. I understand that he and his success represents a whole lot to breaking Asian stereotypes. I really do.

But do you really think he'd engage in the amount of flaming that goes on here? Do you think he'd trumpet himself, put down other players when they have bad nights, make snarky comments about "where the LOH's at today?", b**** at the coach, b**** at Morey, b**** at the world? (and i mean b****, not make reasonable thoughtful criticisms, which are ok)

Ask yourself this -- what would JLin do?

He'd turn his other cheek. Go to practice and work on his jumper. Play some hard ball. Support his teammates. Ignore the haters. Prove them all wrong by performing.

So please stop. Turn the other cheek to the LOH. You change absolutely nothing by engaging on a flame war here except propagate a flood that overwhelms perfectly good team-oriented threads.

LOH are unlikely to change their mind because you shout at them. In fact, they will only become bigger LOH b/c of the flames you throw back at them, and it's pure reality that some LOF comments will go too far or are too ridiculous, which will only feed the flames more.

Only one person can stop haters, and that's JLin if he performs. And if he doesn't that's fine... eventually there will be another Asian b-baller that will. The world won't end if JLin doesn't become an All-star.

So please, be the better man/woman/poster. Turn the other cheek and moderate yo'selves, b/c haters will always be haters and the only thing you can actually change is how you react. This is, after all, the Internet.

I did read his bitter comment to Clutch and felt a little sorry for him.
And then you jumped into that conversation between Clutch and him, so I was simply asking that we don't kick a guy when he's down.

There is some irony in you asking me not to butt in though...
But whatever...peace to you and I mean no harm.

I have to agree, the article is quite low quality and is done more out of emotions than proper analysis. The game would have been lost regardless if Jeremy took 25+ shots, everyone was just ice cold (including Harden). However, I have to point out that I still think Jeremy should have take even more share of the PG duties from Harden. This has improved in last couple of months (we don't see often now Lin dribble down and defer to Harden like earlier on the year), but still I would like to see more of Jeremy creating the plays. Sometimes Harden tries too hard to put his team on his back. A great example is last game on the 3rd qtr when Rockets clawed back to 5 points with 4.5 minutes left in the qtr, for some reason Harden was pretty much the PG for the rest of the qtr and not even sharing the duties with Lin. We knew what happened for the rest of the qtr. Not sure if that was by design or Harden just wanting to take the team on his back. It really didnt work with some silly turnovers and sticky offense.

Now don't misquote me and say i dont like Harden. He is the superstar in the team, but i think he will be more effective and better success for the team if he can just reduce (by a notch) his PG role.
