I hope you mean Kim Kardashian type star and not Hakeem type star.

at least he let many stay if those 12ers or 13ers are lin fans. those fans are arguing with you right now, am I right? btw, i don't believe clutch banned someone solely based on fan of certain player.

Almost everyone on this board is a Lin fan because we all want the Rox to do well. It's just that during his growth, there will be ups and downs so all Rox/Lin fans just understand that as a given.

Whatever hardships you see Jeremy or your favorite player is going through now will only make him better and tougher. Stop being so sensitive!

I'm pretty sure he meant one of his best players and was not equating him with Hakeem. The Kardashiam reference is just childish and rude.

What's that supposed to mean? So in your mind Lin is not a "star player" in pure basketball merits? After what he did in NY alone? After what he did in the past 2-3 months for the Rockets post-recovery? Some ppl just choose to be belind. It's ppl like you make this "culturemap" article relavant.

Star based on pure talent alone? No he isn't. Does he have star potential? Some say yes some say no. I personally think his ceiling is all star which is what we need. But is he one of the better up & coming young talents yes I think that is fair.

Can't argue with that. It's your freedom to choose to use a tougher rubric. I am just hoping that you use the same rubric against all players.

Is John Wall a "star player"? Brandon Jennings? ...

No to John Wall & hell no to Brandon. I don't even consider Rubio a star player. Star players are guys like brook lopez, jrue holiday, david lee etc. Not superstars but all stars.

Guys like John Wall, Rubio, Lin etc are up & coming young talents. Last season I had Jrue as a up & coming young talent but he exploded this year & really made me eat my words so now I consider him a star player.

If Lin is a star then so is Chandler Parsons and Asik. Oh man we got 4 stars on this team!

If you define star as a little above average, then I agree. He's as much of a star player as Conley and Dragic.

No reason to apologize for an opinion and trying to defend it.

One thing you can always bet on here is hurting someone's feelings.

4 stars and yet they are fighting for the last spots isn't that extremely underachieving?

I actually think Conley is a star player. Conley is ridiculously underrated terrific perimeter defender & way above average offensively. Dragic doesn't even belong in the same sentence as Conley.

You also have to admit that they have made it clear that they have put a limit on how he plays though. Saying coaching has no control over this is a joke. You could go back to the quotes from McHale. He's in a different system, playing in a different style, and defers to harden. They aren't going to gel immediately. Next year they will look much better together.

I don't get this ****. He's basically putting up Mike Conley numbers coming off of a ****ing terrible start off of knee surgery and in a new role. Nothing bad about that.
