What's interesting to me, is that when people play prisoners' dilemma-type games over and over again, back-to-back, that studies have shown the best strategy is to: 1. Start out cooperating/be positive on the first move. 2. After that, become a mimic: do whatever your opponent/partner did the previous turn. Eventually, even the most devious opponent wises up, and begins to share. You force your opponent into eventually cooperating with you, so that you can split the rewards evenly. Course, that doesn't help on a one-shot deal like this, though.
Ah well, he wouldn't have won anything either way. Only thing he can be pissed about is that she got money.
Can't really be too mad at the chick, he just as easily could have been lying. Just the nature of the game.
If you vote split, you will ethier lose the money or get 50k. If you vote steal you ethier get 100k or nothing. Assuming there's a 50/50 chance that the other person picks steal, you're better off going with steal. I understand the Chicken game theory, but it doesn't really work too well here.
That's why the most interesting part of the game is that they contestants get to talk to each other before they make their choice. The one with the smoothest tongue wins. To be honest, I would have done the same thing as the girl. I'm generally a lying, backstabbing, prick during these types of games.

Typical woman, leads her prey.. I mean man into truly believing one thing while using his ignorance to her power to settle whatever her need or agenda is at the time.. to then dispose of him and his righteous actions. However if history tells us anything, Neanderthal societies were ran by women, Humans by man... I think it's still better to choose steal no matter what You get 100k or nothing, but even when you get nothing you don't feel like shet because the other person also loses But if you choose split You get 50k or nothing, but when you get nothing, you are destroyed mentally cuz you got back stabbed and the other person stole 100k from you
But the idea is that if you do that all the time, the other contestants will wise up to your intentions no matter how dumb or British they are.
I think game is actually flawed. Because if your opponent chooses steal, there's no way for you to win any money no matter what you choose. It's either you let the house win or let your opponent win. I watched a couple more clips, most women came to steal, and the guy always gets screwed over. So odds says if I play against a woman in the finals there's already 90% chance I won't win any money, so the only option for me is to counter her steal and make it lose lose.
Right, but that's where the talking part comes in. The contestants are sitting face to face, and the human drama is probably the most important aspect here. If it were just me sitting in front of two buttons while the other person is in another room, then yea I'd Steal every single time too. But it kind changes when another face is sitting right in front of you and you can actually talk to him/her.
