Hell yeah!! Add a Sub Z and a Kitchen Aid mixer with the sausage attachment, and you're all set...

OK, I guess I was a little over zealous, but good knives is vital if you want to be a good cook. I was lucky because I sold CutCo knives for a little bit and got my demo set for $140 bucks...but I use the hell out of them!

I swear that picture of that muffin could have been taken in my kitchen. Short of the huge muffin...it looks just like mine.

So you have a white electric stove in between some cabinets, with a coffee maker and a microwave. I can see how that reminds you of your kitchen exclusively.

How many people other than me DON'T have a coffe maker?

hey pgabriel, I think that's a toaster oven. Either that, or that's one of those microwaves from the 50's that you had to hook up to a water supply to prevent it from overheating. Five bucks says that ewfd has an avacado greed Oster blender in his cabinet. Damnit ewfd, get a kitchen upgrade! :D

Alas, I don't have a sub-zero, but I've got the rest covered. Love my KitchenAid. Strangely, I have five different henckels and/or wusthof knives, but my favorite knife is this no-name thing that looks like a chef-knife sized pirate's broadsword. It has much more curve to the blade than a chef's knife, but the reason I love it is because it holds a razor sharp blade.

Cooking is my passion. I have more kitchen stuff than Williams Sonoma

I didn't until my my parents and my wife's parents ganged up and bought us one so they could use it when they visit. Neither of us (the wife or myself) have ever used it though. We use the French Press....or occasionally, the espresso/cappuccino maker.

No coffee maker?? I have an entire corner of my kitchen devoted to specialty beverages and their preparation: Coffee maker, french press, espresso maker, several kinds of teapots, iced tea maker, Vita-Mix blender, regular blender and a wide assortment of coffees and teas.

I make great ziti, potato salad and the best damn cookies you'll ever eat. But after that, I'm not much good in the kitchen.

That looks like the work of an individual who spent last night watching movies and began creating.

    TNT Movie Classics:
    Welcome to tonight's Munchie Movies

After watching Dazed & Confused, Friday, Super Troopers, Dude Wheres My Car, ewfd says "man, I am huunnngry... let me make some muffins before Up In Smoke comes on..." He runs to the kitchen to find there are none of those nifty little paper cups to go into the muffin tray. "Damn it," he exclaims! "Dude, I know, I am going to biggest m/f muffin ever!"

Did you sell CutCo knives in Houston? Do you know a guy named Blair who was selling for CutCo last summer?

Oh man...it's been four years since I sold those things.

Well technically speaking, what I actually did was get the job, go through training, buy the demo set, and do a couple of practice demonstrations before realizing I'm a crappy salesman and quitting. My parents bought a paring knife out of pity, my friend's dad got a pair of shears (after I cut through a penny with them. :)), and my then girlfriend's mom bought a $23 peeler that she took with her when she moved out. I even sliced my hand during one of the presentations...

I can see how my comment is a little dumb...but I have the same microwave and I have an extremely similar little hot tile thingy on the stove.

    Never mind.

That matches my cutco experience almost to the T. I'd add that in addition to being a crappy salesman, I felt the tactics put me in a small ethical bind. I also sliced open my hand but not during a presentation -- those are some sharp knives! Those shears are pretty damn good. My mother stole them from me when I quit the job.

I'm so encouraged to see so many of you love to cook or want to learn. I seem to constantly meet people who are afraid to boil water (they want to leave that to the professionals).
While Cutco sales was not JV's thing, I'm happy to have the knives - particularly their double d edged knives - in my professional opinion, no other serrated knife is worth it unless you only use it to cut baked goods.

Well, I'll just have to try them.

Can you hook me up with some of them recipes?

I tried sellingthose right out of college, I found out I couldn't sell either! :)
But I got my parents a set (pearl handle) for X-mas and bought myself a couple extra steak knives. They are awesome knives still!

That was the first thing I thought of when I saw it. It looks like something one of my old roomates would do at 4 in the morning and the rest of the house would wake up and see it and say "What the f**k?!?!" Only to find Nathan passed out on the sofa and all our questions were answered.
