Yes he did say the magic 2 words. He said "that call is f#$%ing bullshi'ite" loud and very clear on live TV. Loved Jimi going old school with the dirt kicking. Fox showed Kent in the dugout watching it go down and I swear he cracked a little smile. Players like it when managers stick up for them. Props to Bagwell, Redding, Wagner....and Alou.
I got a feeling Jeff told the ump how uncool it is to not have a p*rn star moustache and the ump ejected him because of it. Then Jimi stepped out and defended Kent on how cool p*rn star moustaches are, and kicked his feet in the dirt over the plate explaining that the dirt is like the moustache and how the plate looks better when dirt is covering up a plate. The ump disagreed again and ejected Jimi too refuting that a clean shaven look is the best. The End.
ESPN game recap What I found funny was that Kent said there were no curse words or threats, on questions, yet you could hear him yell quite clearly at the home plate umpire "bullsh*t" and some other obscenities. Makes you wonder what Mr. Kent thinks is a curse word
LMAO...yeah he did yell that.... I heard the two words as if he had a mic on...it was so clear on Fox.
this is kind of off-topic...but have the astros worn their black jerseys that say astros accross in gold at all this year?
here are sites featuring mr. Kent's dirty mustache: http://www.mustachesummer.com/rotw/ http://sportsbybrooks.com/jeffkent.html http://espn.go.com/mlb/s/2002/0625/1399050.html (the moustache catagory is at the bottom) http://www.gaydeadorcanadian.com/archives/002104.shtml (small forum) There are more. Gotta love the 'stache!
For 'stache lovers: http://www.chickenhead.com/features/mustache/ "I guess it was Geraldo Rivera who first made me want me to reach for the mustache stars. It was back in the days when he had the super handlebar going. Only one like it in the TV news game. I says to myself, I says, that's a fine lookin' mustache. I growed one straight off. In the years that have passed though, it has become much more than just plain old hair. You see, when you're putting in 16 hours on a thousand acre dude ranch, you can get awful lonesome sometimes, but I'm never alone, thanks to my mustache - and all them bugs in it... "
TOday's Pitchers: Cubs Estes 6-8, 6.00 @ Astros Robertson 10-3, 4.56 SInce this thread is so long there are the pitchers again. Game starts at 1:05pm CT.
Maybe it's a good thing your not getting it on TV. Things are not looking good early. I am getting the WGN feed...Robertson was just pulled in the 2nd inning after the Cubs scored 3 runs in the two innings. Hope we rebound. Calling on the bullpen early.
I'm blacked out as well. Does not look good when Robertson doesn't complete the 2nd inning. HR to Corky already. Still only down 3 runs and we're barely out of the 2nd inning, so not impossible. Hopefully Saarloos can give at least 3 good innings, preferably 4-5. We start to see Redding put it together then Robertson has a collapse. I swear, this team can't put all it's parts together at the same time- like in early season, if Bagwell was hitting, Berkman wasn't, and vice versa. One thing of interest- Yankees-Red Sox is on ESPN tonight. Weaver is pitching. There have been a couple of rumors that we're interested in the guy, and with Robertson and Villone now possibly coming back to earth, and Hun's recent quote, it may be a chance to get a peak at a guy with Astro possibilities.
Does Merced have some incriminating photos of these WGN announcers or something? "The last man the Cubs want to face in a run scoring situation is Merced". Whatever.
that's because 2 years ago the Astros caught the cubs right around early august. Merced hit a 3 run home run that gave us the win and the division lead. this year, he's pretty much sucked
