the astros endured 1 season without Alou, and now they have Jeff Kent.

I would much rather have Kent over Alou. Moises still hasn't approached the numbers he had in Houston this year.

    Kent just got ejected.

    Very quick hook there.

    Jimmah's gone too.

    This ump sucked.

Engsberg put in to pinch hit, called out on strikes on the appeal. Pretty sure Kent gets credit for that strikeout. Looked like a bad call that Kent went around - and a worse reaction to Kent's complaints.

    poppycock and malarkey.

Kent checked his swing on a pitch low and away - ump called it a strike cause he said Kent went around. Kent stepped out of the box and said a few things, not sure he was even looking at the ump.

Apparently he said the magic word - and he got tossed. Very quick on the umps part - Jimmah came out and went ballistic, yelling, kicking dirt, etc, etc.

I don't know about you others on here. But this is exactly why I like Jimy Williams because he has heart and will fight for his team.. Sorry to say that Dierker looked comatose.. But I loved Dierker dont get me wrong.. great houston guy.. but his managing wasn't my bag..

All this heart and fighting for the team is mitigated though, by the inexplicable use of Engsberg - who had to wait until Kent got ejected to get in the game.

Well Ensberg hasn't been great the past few series' maybe Jimy felt is was time for a few days off so he can get a little rest and maybe be rejuvenated.. He is also keeping Blum from getting any rust which comes in handy for the stretch run

Also Ensberg isn't a completely solid bat as of yet. Let him keep this up for a longer stretch maybe Jimy will have more confidence in him.. Remember Ensberg has never had a full season under his belt

Alfonseca about to come in to face Bagwell and Ensberg.

    Prediction: major damage will ensue.

(edit) Outcome: just a 2-out single by Ensberg... I'm calling that major damage.

Wagner gets the save, Astros win.

Redding was the Player of the game with the 2-hitter.

Isn't it strange that 'Stros starting pitchers actually pitch better at the "juicebox" than they do on the road?

I know they've figured out how to pitch there, but I still have too many bad memories of 2000... when it seemed that there were more HR in a game than they were fly ball outs. (therefore, every ball that was hit in the air seemed to be a homre run).
