What about Jason Kidd's elbow to Andersen....he shouldve been ejected.

If the replay for the final 1:01 is executed and Dampier is able to return to the game, what stops the Rockets from protesting the elbow by Kidd. It should have been a flagrant 2 and automatic ejection.

Therefore, if Dampier is allowed to shoot the freethrows over, than the Rockets should be able to shoot 2 freethrows plus the ball for Kidd's elbow. I think that would be a fair assessment.

I think Cuban would have more ground to stand on with the league if he wasn't such a baby-cryer all the time and complaining about every little thing.
It would also help his cause if the Mavs didn't have 5 freaking technicals that game.

I wouldn't worry about a replay either. Hopefully the league looks at the tape for the whole game and determines that both teams were equally screwed.

It would funny if Stern reviews the tapes and then give Kidd a suspension for Flagrant 2.

I'm not exactly against anyone protesting a game. But that game wasn't even close to being unfair to the point of warranting one.

Looks like he's had just about enough.

    Mark Cuban Buys Sports

DALLAS—Billionaire Mark Cuban, tired of the opposition he has encountered from NBA management in his role as owner of the Dallas Mavericks and frustrated with opposition from the MLB owners' association in his attempt to buy the Chicago Cubs, liquidated almost all his personal wealth and holdings and purchased the entirety of sports for an undisclosed but undoubtedly large sum on Monday.

The League hates the Rockets. Cuban will get his replay and they'll win because of the officiating.

They might get a chance to replay it.....but the bigger question is does Dirk get to play the final 1:01?

Because by shooting the FT's he technically could come back into the game.....

I hope the NBA does not uphold it......but they might.

If anyone should file a protest, it should be the Rockets owner. There are so many game changing bad calls refs had counted against us that have probably costed us the game or causes us to weaken defense because opposing team were in the bonus and refs were ticky tack calling. Ive seen 2 games where brooks good had made a game changing shot but refs no called...he looked a little upset but suprisingly like the rest of the rox, they suck it up and go for the grind. Ive been watching alot of other teams/games lately, and so far I havent really seen as bad officiating as I seen with some of these past games against the Rox. Cuban needs to shut up and watch some rox game tapes and see if he still thinks he should waste time crying to the NBA.

Don't you think the NBA understands the ramifications if they were to replay the final minute based on a subjective call?

Obviously money talks and I wonder what kind of revenue door this would open up for the NBA as well?

Well, they did this already but it was back in 1982- here's the weird thing- the losing team wound up winning:

    Matchup: Lakers at Spurs
    Date: Nov. 30, 1982
Scenario: The Spurs claimed misapplication of the lane violation rule with 3 seconds left.
Ruling: Protest was upheld on grounds that the error clearly affected the outcome of the game.

then-NBA commissioner Larry O'Brien upheld a request for a replay by the San Antonio Spurs after their 137-132 double-overtime loss to the Los Angeles Lakers the previous month.

The Spurs and Lakers finished the game in April 1983, with San Antonio winning 117-114.

If the refs assessed the technical foul after seeing the elbow on a replay, they had no business looking at, then yes, I think he might have a case.

while we're at it, can we rescind Brooks' flagrant?

so Dirk, Damp, and Landry would all be eligible to play in the replay.

a six point lead with 1:01 left. i guess dallas would get possession.

What happens in all this if Cuban gets his way?

It depends on the ruling, but if the flagarant is upheld and the tech rescinded, then it is 110-104 with Dampier at the line for 2 shots and the Mavs get the ball....with 1:01 left on the clock.

So they would have to replay the game just like with the Hawks game a while back?

That was hilarious! I've read The Onion for years, but not ever watched any of their videos before. Just too bad it wasn't the Mavericks instead......
