Well to IMHO the only thing the Mavs have done wrong is irrationally hate their pgs, while at the same time over valuing other players they replaced them with. Their first mistake was letting Nash walk and replacing him with Dampier, then they put the nail on their own coffin by trading Harris for Kidd. The irony is they're very likely to miss the playoffs altogether, and I don't think their pick is lottery protected (I'm not sure though, but my guess is it isn't since the Mavs were thinking Kidd was the missing piece of the puzzle). Also for some reason despite the fact that Cuban is more than willing to spend for players, he doesn't want to buy draft picks. I just find it strange that someone who's wiling to pay good money for talent would abhor getting picks
