It explicitly claimed she was carried away screaming by Border Patrol agent. What you have posted is the complete opposite of the truth. This isn't about hints or narratives.

LMAO. OK so the girl was not separated and what now? What exactly do you want from this? Does this mean that the covers meaning is less valid. It's a young crying baby in the pic, are you saying there are no young crying girls that were separated by the zero tolerance policy? You know there were so whats your issue? Ok lets find the first person who first published this picture incorrectly and give em a good scolding will that make you happy? lol

Did it, though? I've not seen any writeups from the TIME article itself.

And as stated above, even if TIME borked the details of this one case, it does not change the situation at hand.

So, it's a pretty hollow point, if there is one to be claimed at all.

Misinformation from all sides. . . .. aids the oppressor

Is it true? Maybe Maybe not . . . ..
It is quickly reaching the point where it really doesn't matter anymore

My point that someone posted the opposite of the truth is a hollow point? post fact world

Here is the time article. The name of course is john-moore-getty-photo-separation which describes the events where the photographer just made up a better story than the truth.

Correction: The original version of this story misstated what happened to the girl in the photo after she taken from the scene. The girl was not carried away screaming by U.S. Border Patrol agents; her mother picked her up and the two were taken away together.

    Pretty much. Yep.

You're doing the equivalent of pointing out a typo to invalidate an entire book.

Sure, it's not good TIME got it wrong (purposefully or negligently), but it has absolutely zero bearing on the issue at hand.

Youre smart enough to know this.

The article is the story of a photographers experience. It has as much credibility as Chris Kyle's book at this point. He had a ton of typos lol.

This just goes to show - yet again - that most of the mass media serves as the propaganda dissemination and public manipulation wing of the Democrat party, and that they are not to be trusted.

But as polls routinely show, most Americans already know that, even if this fact remains a mystery to most of the posters here in this forum.

I am not outraged by the mistake by Time. I hope the little girl gets a college scholarship.

One photo was misrepresented.... STOP THE PRESSES.... Its all FAKE NEWS. The whole thing was a George Soros funded plot to destroy Merica and King Trump.

2,000 children separated since May.... wait... sorry.... 19999. TOTALLY not an issue now. (Trump fan logic)

I would like to get the mother's side of the story on why she left her situation at home. Women have little to no support in cases of domestic violence and abuse in countries like Honduras. The reasons for that are unfortunately as much cultural as systemic. Sending her back could put her and her daughter at even greater risk. You don't leave on the down low like she did for no reason.

Just ignoring the underlying political story that is driving everyone's reaction. When you focus on the journalism, I don't see how there is much debate that these type of "white lies" are counter productive. Have none of you seen Broadcast News (one of the best movies ever)? I'll just leave this scene here. Relevant portions are in the first minute.

Posted this in the pro life thread. Newshour a local PBS weekly political show was talking last night like these kids and families maybe permanently separated.

    That seems ridiculous to speculate

Did the photographer make up a story? He never said, with certainty, that they were separated. He knew separation was happening at the facility he was at, and he feared that was the fate of this girl. That’s what he said. Whether it actually happened to her specifically or not does not really matter. All it would do is serve as a hook to understand what the issue is. But the issue is there regardless, as you well know.

The original Times article mistook what happened to her specifically before clarification was received on Thursday and they corrected their article. Mistakes happen. Fixating on that as a means of dismissing the entire article, and the fate of all those kids who are still missing in the system, is pretty low. Of course, this is what the Trump administra5ion is hoping for and counting on.
