But we struggled entire game until the last half of 4th qtr against hornets. We finally looked like our normal selves this game.

Speaking of 14-20 teams, the Nuggets who have that exact record just blew out Memphis(admittedly without Zach Randolph) by 29 points. So the Heat's crappy record should take nothing away from the impressive performance by the Rockets tonight.

This. Yeah we have won and lost some games, but these last 10 games had been so bad as far as the way the team looked. Didn't look like the same Rockets that started the season. It's amazing how great the team looked tonight, just look like the Rockets that started the season. Hopefully it wasn't a fluke.

Anyone with half a brain would've done the same thing. That's like giving credit to someone for doing their job.

Failure fans have no idea how good Mchale really is but they are given permission to start threads anyway. Idiots rule sometimes it seems.

Yeah but still, it's a major step in the right direction. This is Mchale we're talking about. You know, the coach who rides his starters to death no matter what the situation is.

    LOL - what?

Just so you know, I have been a fan of the Rockets since 1972 - probably before you were a twinkle in your fathers eyes.

And this is a thread congratulating the coach for making good moves.

Totally agree. I was shocked when they introduced D-MO in the starting lineup. I was ecstatic that McHale had the balls to make that adjustment.

I also thought it was a great move to post up Howard more with the secondition unit. That really got him rolling.

Also, starting D-MO was really smart this game because Miami's first PF off the bench was Danny Granger. As soon as I saw Granger guarding Motie I was yelling out for some D-MO post ups. Everyone around me in the stands turned and looked at me funny but the Rockets recognized it and instantly posted him up to the tune of 8 straight points.

Major props for him being able to move on with his life after all the tragedies. Heck I turn into a vegetable just trying to put myself in his shoes and thinking about it.

The most exciting thing about tonight, to me, was the defense Smith played on Bosh.

Bosh going early, but Josh Smith ended that.

If we can expect that kind of one-on-one defense from him on good PFs, then guys like Aldridge and Griffin don't really scare me anymore.

Big Mchale critic, but I don't think he ever deserved blame for Smith starting, in fact, I think it bothered him the most. The dude was super competitive, and he has brought Dmo up like a kid teaching him post moves and what not, he must have been super proud to see how the big fella picked his game up so much. Dmo earned that spot, and it must have killed him to see Smith goofing it up in his place. What also confirms this is that he only gave the experiment 2 games before going back on what Morey told JS.

I posted the exact same lineup rotation he ran today in the Pelican's game thread. Where's the credit to DreamShook thread?

    Nice DD....

But one of the biggest adjustment was on the offensive end and also James Harden on D....

The starters only took 14 3pt shots and James took 6.. This adjustment was HUGE, Clyde actually made a true statement saying that the team shot more 3's when Dwight was hurt and they forgot to go back to the low post once he got back.

There were multiple passes for easy shots... Man that makes the game so much easier...

It actually started with DMo on the block, he gave them an inside game in the first quarter, and Dwight took it up a notch in the 2nd freeing up the 3pt shooters to have wide open uncontested shots.
