I suppose my comment woulda had a little more traction had I posted it #2 rather than #249 as it wasn't meant to be a blanket statement. I suppose the impetus more than the actual thread itself stuck in my crawl. This is probably an instance were the ends just doesn't justify the means for me. If you want me to exchange views with you (you meaning the original poster) don't make a mockery of my religion and then expect me to respect you enough to exchange views.
I agree with you there and never was actually arguing with you in general, just pointing out differences. Having said that, I feel compelled to point out that your mamma smokes crack rock. There, now we belong in this forum.
He left out how areas with ethnic cleansing or ethnic genocide show a reduction in conflicts in the aftermath and sometimes redraws borders that fit the region's demographics. The bloodiness would be a small blip to a long period of "relative peace" afterwards. The Old Testament era was rife with ethnic tensions...more than it is today. Would the US be as peaceful if we didn't wipe out the native Americans? I'm not condoning genocide, but it's definitely in our history.
Well please do continue, don't let what stop you. Very much like moes, I struggle to suss the meaning of the discussion, but find it fascinating and informative. EDIT: and yes I see the irony of me complaining about thread derailing in the past and I still object to derailing a ongoing thread...but this one was dead after page 4. The philosophy discussion has made a halfass interesting thread into a VERY interesting one.
