Would you take dog medicine if you were sick? Most of the time steroids are those meant for agricultural purposes.
Your best bet is to go with the fruit punch powder GNC provides. Tasty and relatively cheap. Very, very easy to put on 4-5 pounds in 2-3 weeks time, although most of it is water weight. Gives you increased energy and strength gains during your workout, but you will lose most of the water weight you put on after you end your first cycle. And I agree with those who say don't take it continuously. I did get some acne when I used it but that shouldn't be a problem if you're 25+. Only supplement I use now is whey protein after workouts and occassionally in the mornings. I've started concentrating more on nutrition, the ultimate way to gain bulk.
To those who said acne was a problem I experienced none of this and I am 18. I gained 10 pounds over 2 months going from 205 to 215. My bench max which had seemed to plateau at 280 has shot up to about 320 and all of my other lifts have experienced the same sort of gains. I have no idea what people are talking about when they say that the weight gained is "water weight." If I'm bigger and stronger i would assume it's muscle weight. Also, I have gone a week at a time without taking creatine and I didn't seem to lose any muscle mass and it is rare for me to take creatine every day of the week when I am on it. Basically, I am taking much less then the recommended weekly doseage but am still experiencing the gians.
Your liver takes a pounding over time. Fish liver oil is essential, along with a few other things, to keep it in check.
just take sum super tess it will get u big taking one cycle, wont kill u and it really does make u alot stronger and bigger and super tess u keep most of ur gain after ur done taking it. alot of my friends took it when we were in highschool and most now play college foot ball so that should give u and idea.
Tons, some serious. ... and it'd be nice to carry around your own pair of tiddies when you get bored, eh? (google gynecomastia and steroids)
Creatine is safe. Take with sugar and a lot of water (although some forms don't require the sugar/insulin to get in the cells). It's more than just 'water weight', you will feel a very different pump in your muscle while working out. Almost feels like you have so much more power that you can pull something. Btw, it's even good for your brain. Definitely cycle on/off.
I used it 5 years ago, when I was a gym rat and it works great. Drinks lots and lots and lots and lots of water. You don't want to tear any muscles, do you. Well??? DO YOU!?!?!
A few questions: 1) On the back of my creatine supplement, it says to take it immediately after my workout. Some posters said they take theirs before they work out. What should I do? 2) I work out at night, sometimes late, so I sleep almost immediately after I have the creatine. Is that good or bad? Will it still have its effects? I wake up in the middle of the night to piss btw.
I haven't read through the thread, but I have first hand knowledge of creatine. I took it over a period of about 7-8 months a few years ago when I was working out every day. It did indeed help keep my muscles hydrated, thereby helping them recover quicker. My bench went up drastically, as did my squats and basically every other lift. However, the water kept in the muscle tissue caused me to bulk up quite a bit. I probably put on about 10-15 pounds at least. Also, when I went in for my cholesterol check (high cholesterol runs in the family) my kidney enzymes were out of whack by a pretty drastic amount. It wasn't dangerous, just odd. Plus, they found tiny microscopic crystals in my system. Apparently I didn't drink enough water and waste products weren't getting flushed out of my body as efficiently as it should have been. Again, nothing dangerous, just odd. I stopped taking creatine (and, after blowing out my shoulder, stopped working out too) and everything went back to normal in a couple of months. Basically, it's not dangerous as long as you follow directions (there's no need to overload on the stuff, excess just gets flushed out of your system anyway) and, most importantly, stay hydrated. Whenever you walk by a water fountain, take a few drinks. Drink several tall glasses a day.
Docgundy, To answer your first question, taking creatine after your workout aids in recovery. I take it after my workouts and I find that I am not as sore the next day. As for your next question... I would still take creatine at night even if I was just going straight to bed. As far as I know your body still process' supplements and anything else you consume.
I heard that your piss needs to be a certain color for you to know that you're getting enough water while on creatine. Anyone have any idea?
