Did anyone else in Houston hear that HUGE clap of thunder in the middle of the night?

About 20 car alarms were set off in my parking lot b/c of it.

Literally, it was the LOUDEST clap of thunder I've heard in my entire life. A painting fell off of my wall due to the vibrations.

One day no clouds and sun...the next thunder and rain.

How do Weather men even exist in Texas?

You're not kidding. I've heard some really loud claps of thunder last summer but that was LOUD!

It sounded like a bomb went off.

Man, I got caught in hell Saturday night.

I had a gig at a waterfront restaurant in Palacios (The Outrigger). Cool place with a big outdoor covered deck.

We got there at 5PM and they fed us dinner. Got our stuff set up and the bar gave us two buckets of longnecks to get started on. We played from 7:00-8:15, took a half hour break, and played from 8:45-10 PM. When we finished, there were still lotsa partiers wanting more, so the club gave us extra $$ and we played for another hour. During the last hour, I saw lots of thunderbolts off in the distance.

Sure as sh*t, as soon as we finished and started packing up, the sky opened up, and it downpoured from 11PM until 1:30 AM. We finally got back on the road close to 2AM, and I rolled into my house at 4AM. On the drive back, there were some serious lightning bolts hitting the ground off in the distance. It was wild.

What's all this talk of storms. Her ein the valley, we had a mild cool front. There was a slight overcast for a day or two, but no rain...maybe a mist of a drizzle, but no rain.

Ahhh...the perks of being in the valley!

Well hell. It was thundering earlier today, I swear it! Just because there are no clouds in the sky and it's in the 70's doesn't mean it wasn't raining like hell earlier....:p

Well just a heads up to any CS residents, incase you haven't watched any tv today. There is a bad storm coming up from Brenham. Large hail is expected.

Pretty busy day weather wise. (Brazos County)

    Tornado watch
    Flood watch
    Severe Thunderstorm Watch

    Severe Thunderstorm Warning.

How yall doing with weather down in Houston?

I lucked out with no hail dammage to my truck back in March, when many cars across the city were badly dammaged.

Where are you at? I was supposed to head to Lake Travis, but that didn't go through...so I am staying here at home. Nothing much going on, just passing time.

Out in the Hill Country northwest of San Antonio... If you're in the Austin area, looks like you're getting the same stuff or will be. Looks like you picked a good day not to go to Lake Travis...

Looking at the Doppler, it's cleared up a good deal here. It's all headed for Houston next...

If my prize lawn were human, it would be having an orgasm right about now.

    Anyone else getting soaked?

BTW ...2 of my dumb ass neighbors are too stupid to go out and turn off their sprinklers

maybe the rain doesn't like you.

I had a dream i was watching radar and saying holy **** look at that dark red and purple on the radar. it was racing northeast along the coast and turning towards houston. it was like a bow echo or something racing towards us and about to cause a downburst from hell and rip us to shreds. i don't know, probably just too much weather channel or something. hope it wasn't a vision. it'd be a great time to be a storm chaser in these days we're living in.

Man...talk about bad karma. All of a sudden my cable is going in and out. There's an approaching storm, but it's supposed to be a couple of hours away.

    Weird.
