My wife (then fiance) flew to Houston to visit my and familia last year on X-mas day, after going to X-mas Mass (see D&D thread, oh wait, don't). It was hillarious; she flew to where the weather was worse (although I thought it was pretty cool).
Okay, the College Station ones will need to wait until mid night, when It's supposed to. I know for a fact it snowed for a bit, and now with mixed winter downfall in Fort Worth. It's happening for sure around the TCU campus. I just talked to a buddy of mine, so he could lieing....but I doubt it. By the way, it's nearly as dark as night outside!
He could be right. I noticed on the satellite that the snow is moving NE so it very well could have snowed in DFW first. I am annoyed with meteorologists exaggerating everything and that is why I called BS. No offense.
None was taking man. none. They do exagerate a lot. I know that FortWorth was getting more winter percipitation than Dallas was...
Yeah Yeah...Its cold...It amazes me that if you turn on the news, its like the end of the world up here in Dallas...Granted, its cold, its wet, but man, don't sell doomsday... Luckily, I only live a couple miles from work, but they let us out early and I may be able to get in late due to the "ice"... I hope it snows on x-mas, just like last year...My kids and I would love that...
damn UT cancelled classes starting at 2 today. that wouldn't be a bad thing if i didn't have a 2 pm class and they didn't send the email out until 1:37, after i had already left for class. i just loved driving 20 minutes and turning right around and driving 20 minutes back home. i even checked my email at 1:30. if they had been at all on top of the situation, i would've found out. and to make it worse, classes resume tomorrow at 10, and i have an 11 am class. couldn't they have just made it noon. either way, i love this weather. i'd take 65 high, 45 low all year if i could get it (**** june, july, and august) with the occasional dip into these temperatures. i hope it snows tonight in austin. if it does i'll call Smokey to ask him if it's snowing there just to make sure it's actually snowing here.
The reason I ask is because I worked for CP up until a couple months ago. They had been pushing hard for a while to transfer me to Bartlesville, so I've since found something else and moved on. I worked there for almost 4 years though, I probably know ya.
It's about 9 degrees here, and there's about 2 feet (or more) of snow on the ground, with more falling.
I'm lovin' the temps, but hating the ice in the DFW area. Right now it's 21 and dropping... expected to be anywhere from 12-18 degrees for a low... wooo hoooo.
I'm getting a reading of about 17 F here in Plano, with a windchill of about 5 F. Mostly ice and frozen rain accumulation... snowed lightly in patches throughout the day on Wed. BTW, IMHO an ice storm is more of a problem than snow. Especially in the D/FW area with so many who lack the driving know how.
Our HIGH yesterday in Boulder was 5 degrees. Today, it's supposed to be in the low-20s, but right now we're at 1 degree, so it's gonna take a big jump to make that happen. You know, when we had 100 mph winds on Monday, and they said that the weather was going to get worse, I thought they were on crack. Damn if they weren't right.
