What you don't see is that if they miss, they get caned with the handle.

 

I just pulled a hamstring while trying to hit play to watch the video. Doesn't look like I'm cut out for that sport.

 

Is wearing a rag on your head part of the standard Takraw uniform? Reminded me of playing hoops in the early 90's when every donkey had a red rag on his head.
