You know, if I have children, I want them to be as smart as Murray. Hell, I MYSELF want to be as smart as Morley! The success of any organization starts with the brains right at the top. We have one of the best (if not the best) brains in the business.
Tonight Bullard at least partially addressed a question I had about our team in the commentary. I had been wondering if the youngest team in the league had ever made the playoffs before. He didn't say. He did say if our Rockets made the playoffs, they will be the youngest team in NBA HISTORY to do so. Again, this is absolutely amazing.
darul mulhray is da best check out the thread dedicated to him on realgm boards they all singing his praise
No sure if this has not already been posted elsewhere ... Trader Daryl Exactly how many players from the last 4 drafts have played for or made their way through Houston? Maybe you're like me and this list below will blow you away. Each team is awarded 2 picks per draft per year. That's 8 picks in 4 years. So how in the hell did Rockets GM Daryl Morey get his hands on THIRTY players in 4 years?!? I'm aware that likely in reality only Harden, Parsons & maybe Robinson will be a part of the positive Rockets future, but seriously this is insane to me. 2012 Draft 5 Thomas Robinson 12 Jeremy Lamb 16 Royce White 18 Terrence Jones 2011 14 Marcus Morris 20 Donatas Motiejunas 23 Nikola Mirotic 27 JaJuan Johnson 35 Tyler Honeycutt 38 Chandler Parsons 40 Jon Leuer 45 Josh Harrellson 51 Jon Diebler 55 E'Twaun Moore 2010 11 Cole Aldrich 14 Patrick Patterson 30 Lazar Hayward 44 Jerome Jordan 2009 2 Hasheem Thabeet 3 James Harden 6 Jonny Flynn 8 Jordan Hill 11 Terrence Williams 27 DeMarre Carroll 29 Toney Douglas 32 Jermaine Taylor 34 Sergio Liull 38 Jon Brockman 42 Patrick Beverly 44 Chase Budinger - Wex (@awexler)

Why don't we wait until one of HIS teams can put up a 50+ win season and get back to the playoffs before we start handing him GM of the Universe awards. So far all he's done is prove he can make some flashy trades that keep us in the middle of the pack.
excellent roster.. but we could use a better coach. mchail overplays harden, imo. which isn't bad, but i think we should rest harden more for long-term longevity's sake
I'm a Morey fan, although I am not blind to his misses - and there have been a few. But ultimately, all GM's are measured by championships, and Murray is still a work in progress in that regard. I hope he goes down as one on the best GM's in history .....
Instead of holding him to an arbitrary regular season mark; it's better to compare beginning state to current state... it's a pretty significant improvement overall in my opinion from the late TMac-Yao roster to what we have today in 4 years. The post-season expectations should be building for him, too. As soon as we win another series, expectations are going to soar from then on for Muroy.
This team might get pretty close to 50 games actually. The trade might actually hurt them from reaching it though. But yeah, Murray deserves a lot of praise here. I'd give Darrel Moory a lot of credit for what's happening here. Seriously, this team is better situated than anytime since the post Hakeem era. Even when you had Francis, Mobley, and Yao - you didn't not have the young rich talent around them and that's why T-mac and Yao could never get past the 2nd round. What Morely has done here is not only get superstars, but have the rich talent around them to succeed.
