has anyone seen 11:14? not too many big names but its the same type of movie where different storylines merge.... i havent seen it yet, but its in my blockbuster online que. and we need more Jennifer Esposito pics.
This was not oscar worthy, IMHO...It was an ok movie, but not WOW, I've got to see it again...I guess it was this or Brokeback... Jennifer Esposito is hot...Isn't she an anchor in Good Morning LA or something...If its the same one, she gets a little exposed in this movie and a lot exposed in another one...Its the one where Jamie Fox writes this book about breaking up with women...
Breakin' All the Rules? haven't seen it, but heard it sucked.... if she's in it, its gotta be worth watchin right?
Yeah, she is in "Breakin' All the Rules" but she isn't nude in that movie. You see a little nipple in "Crash" though.
Terrible movie. The worst Best Picture winner I've ever seen, even worse than Driving Miss Daisy or Shakespeare In Love. Preachy films, I can handle. Movies that insult my intelligence and talk down to me are a different matter entirely.
how does this movie insult ur intelligence? it's not like Scary movie 4 or team america:world police. How did the movie talk down to you? It's about prejudice and redemption. it's about the edge of sanity and despair. It's about trying to do the choices and consequences.
nah, bladeage makes a good case. Eternal Sunshine was fantastic. Not my favorite, but I loved it nonetheless.
I just watched it tonight. I remember buying it, but I never had time to watch it until this thread reminded me of it. All in all a pretty badass movie. Really touched a nerve on the whole race issue. It just goes to show you that racism still plays a big part in society today...... Ive been thinking alot about this issue recently. As for the nudity, its 1/2 a tit - thats it (no ass or muff shots guys - dream on).
I hate it when a movie try to put a message down my throat, and "Crash" did exactly that I have an IQ more than 20 you know... Trying to put in a message by making up stories that improbably merge just does not work......... u can do that for fun or observation
If you don't relate to the movie fine, but don't insult the intelligence of the people that do like it. Me being one of them. It won an Oscar, they don't just give those away.
Well, at times it seems they do...It was an ok movie, but not worthy of the best, IMHO...But I'm not a voting member...I didn't watch the competition so I can't say how good the others were...
It was alright, like someone said I didn't rush out to go see it again. it was kind of improbable, but most movies are.
This is one of the worst movies I've ever seen. Preachy, sanctimonious, bull****. The movie is inherently flawed because by nature, films are written with bias. Therefore it's attempt to provide a glimse of how things "really" are is ludicrous. (No pun intended) For a movie that is supposedly a gritty, realistic depiction of racism and racial bias in America, I found it's depiction of the Asian race particularly interesting. We have the Asian woman who is a terrible driver. She causes an accident, then acts unreasonable about it. We have her husband, a slave trader. That is pretty self explanatory. And then we have the Asian slaves themselves, who are rescued at the end of a movie by an African-American thief who takes pity on these pour souls. Any redeeming characters? Why bother, as there is no Asian Jessie Jackson that will come screaming hellfire and organizing protests. Syriana, a movie snubbed for God knows what reason, should have won Best Picture hands down. The depth and complexity of the plot coupled with superb writing, acting, and cinematography justify at least a nomination. The Oscar comittee dropped the ball by not recognizing this outstanding film.
I liked crash, but it was not a great movie. It hit you with the message like a sledgehammer. Plus the plot was over the top melodrama. That ruined it for me. However, the acting was top notch. I felt like they got things backwards. Dillon was better than Clooney, and Syriana was better than Crash. I guess which movie you like depends on if you enjoy plot or acting more. I also thought Capote was better than either movie. It had an interesting story and great acting.
