If you're referring to the Mike Leach situation I think that has more to do with either his wife or the fact that he's a media personality and it would have gotten out and commented on in such a way that his parenting would have been scrutinized. I honestly think someone who played pro ball and championship high school/college football in Texas in the freaking late '70s/early '80s got a lot worse treatment than his kid; and if Craig was a frustrated Archie Manning type instead of a multimillionaire sportscaster he would've told the boy to suck it the hell up.
I don't mind him but why the heck doesn't anyone run for city council, the school board or a state rep anymore? I think there's just a bunch of huckster consultants ginning up campaign contributions for primary ads and press releases that should never get made.

More than anything this probably just shows that primaries for the most part are a waste of time and money. It's also possible that TexasDem wants to save money and resources for Obama 2012. Libertarians could certainly make a run of things down here, go the far right on fiscal spending and just shut the holy hell up on social issues. I have hard time believing some big city Mayor, Congressman or State Rep isn't going to come in donkeyside once the RNC decides on a nominee.
