    Sounds like crepitus to me.

Definitely a pop, not a grind (had to look crepitus up - one site said grinding joints, another said flatulence so I'm not sure whether you were responding to me or AB). It only happens once every few weeks, usually when I am stretching to pop my back. Strangely enough, it is only on the left side.

Pop Rocks are awesome, my son got some the other day and I was amazed at how cool they still are.

I just stood up in my office and tried this...an older lady walked by with this look of horror on her face.

With any luck, she'll be scarred for life.

I haven't seen it mentioned and I'm surprised

    Popping of the TMJ

I have some pretty annoying problems with my TMJ, all a result of having an overbite. I can pop both sides rather easy and as many times as I want.

Can you post step-by-step instructions here, AB? I'm desperate to know how you did it! I've been trying all day to no avail.

I can crack my knees pretty much any time I want. I'll have to work on my azz, though.

yeh...my shoulders are sorta like that. like, they sound just like a deeper/quieter pop of the finger.

my brother has the same thing with the finger cracking...just clenches into a fist and they call pop.

Stand with your feet at shoulders length apart, concentrate, then squeeze your cheeks together as tightly as you can.

If this doesn't work, concentrate on your a-hole, take a deep breath then push...a poot will suffice.

    BEWARE: VIOLENT LASHING COULD ENSUE.
    (but you'll feel better)

When I wake up in the morning, I cross my arms and push down with my hands on my elbows. This makes my shoulders pop really loud. It feels so good. I don't think I can go with out doing it in the morning.
