I believe it's River City Ransom - and I loved that game.

I didn't realize contra was hard for people. You can pretty much remember the patterns of everything in there, you don't need no stinking 30 man code.

Ghost and goblins on the other hand was a piece of work.

Tron on intellivision was hard. After a while, all you could do is go to the corner and keep you shield up.

Astreroids,Defender 1 and 2 gets pretty much impossible. Missle Command was hard also. Flashback on sega would drive you out your mind.

Zelda 2 was a monkey's tit for a while, I tried for years to beat that game when I was like 7.

Did any of you guys play Pro Wrestling on NES? I think it was one of the first games that came out on that system (hence the generic title). Up to a certain point it was easy, then it suddenly became impossible.

Is that the one with the Fighter Hayabusi guy? If so I played that when I was a kid I got to the Cat guy twice and actually beat him once. took forever to get to him I had to take a couple of breaks to give my hands a rest.

It wasn't impossible with the NES Advantage, which featured turbo buttons.

Yes! That's the one. I could never beat the guy that came before the Great Puma.

We didn't end up getting the NES Advantage till way after we had given up on the game. Too bad.

have you guys heard of the Angry Video Game Nerd? He reviews all the crappy games and his videos are pretty funny. I know some of those games he reviewed were notorious for being difficult.

That's the one I remembered. I didn't play this one much, but wasn't this the guy that used "the claw?"

Those games back then it was like an invisible hand came in and turned the Game speed + Extra bullets knob up everytime you advanced, just to insult you. I did beat Atari version Asteroids (classic era ending - it just started over).

    Total Carnage was a b*stard.

Top Gun on NES - Look you're not landing that plane on carrier, forget it. NO. BODY. I ever knew got it to land. We heard some kid in Virginia did it succesfully. Heck you might not get it to refuel either, dead man flying

I landed successfully a few times, but there was still no guarantee regardless of talent.

i'm astounded no one in this thread mentioned Blaster Master.

honorable mentions go to: TMNT (1), Super Mario Bros. 2, & Double Dragon (1).

I tried to tell these guys that Mario 2 was difficult. Apparently its not. I am with you though.
