Shepherd & Westheimer Auntie Chang's Dumpling House Great dumplings (if you like spinach, the steamed veggie ones are excellent); just about everything I've had there is good.
i had the crawfish bisque the other night at pappadeaux's...normally i order seafood gumbo, my favorite food, but the bisque was calling my name...now i can't get it off my mind. i may have to pick some up tonight...i think it's a product of the freaking soup nazi..it's that good!
There bisque is incredible, and I don't usually order soup at restaurants. The food I got hooked on back in college, Chick Fil A
Hey...Max is talking about soup now and the soup Nazi, so I can bring us almost full circle and back to Asian food. Im gonna give up sweets and alcohol for lent (I'll be honest, I'm a terrible Catholic....this is more of an excuse to be healthy for a while), but tonight....for fat tuesday....I'm going to my favorite restaurant... .....for my favorite dish......soup from the Thai Nazi Yum....Tom Kha Gai from Kanomwan......the best soup in the world.
the boiled crawfish is better at Landry's, believe it or not. but the crawfish bisque at pappadeaux's is just ridiculously good. i have a pancake dinner tonight at church...but now i'm craving the friggin bisque!!!
I meant I've never had the crawfish bisqe there, I've had the etoufee though. And you just ignored my Seinfeld comment.
believe me...no seinfeld line ever goes ignored...it's earning credit with the man upstairs.."isn't that what it's all about?"
Tom Kha... the best soup in the world. Dude, Yes!!! When I worked for Mr. Jobs there was a Thai chef who made Tom Kha, it IS the best soup in the world. 2nd place (but not by much) is the crab bisque at Floyd's on 1960. I think Floyd is related to the Landry's but this is his own restaurant and it is awesome. You have to get a cup of the creamy crab bisque and then try the fried chicken... ohmagawd... it is so frickin' good.
I just clicked on my own link (to re-read some of the reviews for Kanomwan), and at least half of them either mention "soup nazi" or "Thai nazi." Seinfeld permeates everything.
