Ted Cruz is going to be the nominee and, barring a totally inept Democratic campaign or candidate, he's going to lose. The Pubbie pendulum is going to swing too far in the "non-moderate" direction and that nutter is going to be the candidate to do it. McCain was Diet Coke, Romney was Tab... and now that those two have failed, they're going to chug straight high fructose corn syrup in Cruz and hope that works. Godspeed, you crazy bastards.
The Republican establishment will not let that happen; they want a liberal candidate because that is who and what they are. They are not conservatives. They are not libertarians. They are Republicrats. Not a dime's worth of difference. McCain worships Hillary and has already said so. Dole, McCain, Romney….do you see a pattern? I actually believe that what the Republicans fear more than anything else is a truly conservative ticket.
Honestly cannot see Cruz getting out with the nomination. Surely they know he will get smoked. Better to run a younger more unknown name than Cruz.
