CP3 Update: May not return Friday, may target Sunday instead

I'm glad Paul is sitting this one out. We are probably losing this one anyways. I almost wish Harden would sit out as well. **** national TV.

Raptors' Defense is damn good make no mistake about it but Kawhi isn't he same Kawhi of old. He's average on defense this year by certain metrics.

OKC is an elite defensive team but Harden still torched them for 41 points back on Christmas day. I expect the same kind of output by Harden, if not better, tonight.

 

I’m surprised that people are surprised. Did y’all really think his first game back would be again one of the top defenders in the league?

 

The best seed would be #3. Nuggets are a regular season team. I believe that Thunder, Lakers and others also want #3. It is dangerous if falling down to #4.
There is no right or wrong at this moment.

 

With the way Harden is playing it will really take a lot of pressure off Paul. He can slowly get back in the groove while Harden keeps doing what he’s doing. We need Paul to be at 100% for the playoffs though.

As if Kawhi will check CP3 at all, this game. It'd be ridiculous not to put Kawhi on Harden, all game.

As in Kawhi would switch off Harden to guard CP3? I'm sure CP3 prefers that, because then he'd just give the ball back to Harden.

 

Now I'm afraid CP is gonna start doing that Austin Rivers thing where he throws the ball right back to Harden like a hot coal.

 

I’m a bit confused on how he can’t be ready for this game, but will be 100% Sunday. If there’s any doubt they should hold him out another week, or just wait till after all star weekend. I don’t want Paul back unless he was 100% last week.

So Chris got hurt on Dec 20th. We were told 2-4 weeks. If he comes back on Sunday it will have been 5 and half weeks he has been out.

So we should just double all Rockets injury projections?

 

Just an old team and old players take longer to heal. We will almost always be closer to the longer estimate than the shorter one. Paul has been out 4 and a half weeks, team said they are being extra cautious and he would've played this game if it was a playoff game. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Capela on the other hand expect him back closer to the 4 weeks than the 6.

Best way to prevent all this is to stop over playing old guys and challenge the team to carry some load. Tonight's a good example, against a good defense the rotation has done its part to make sure Harden got a decent breather.

 

I don’t get how he “might be ready if it was a playoff game,” but is likely to play tomorrow. If you’re not positive you’d play in a playoff game, I don’t want you coming back in a regular season game.
