He had one down year, and that was all it took for us to nearly implode the franchise with the dumbest trade in the past 20 years.

Fans here were calling for Chris to GTFO almost every day. It became abundantly clear who has zero understanding of the game of basketball. Our biggest flaw that year was relying on an aging Tucker alone to make up for the previous 3-headed-monster of Tucker-Ariza-Moute. That was the 2nd most important trio to the Paul-Harden-Capela trio in 2018, but fans could only care about burning Paul at the stake. Everything else was lost to berserker vision.

Watching Paul torch the Rockets while Westbrook sat around and then flailed us into a deeper hole in the Lakers series was a low point for me. Glad this year's team has injected some new blood and life so I can enjoy watching Paul again without the malice for the front office that I had last year.

Hey I’m not complaining I know I didn’t want us to trade him even if he look bad the previous year. He looked good on the off-season and I was excited so I was very upset when we traded him. It was a dumb move a very stupid move.

Like how he missed the final lay up that cost them game 7? Or maybe how he tore his ACL just when they about to GSW? Or maybe when his lob city Clippers choked vs a feuding Harden+Dwight combo with Play Hard Coach Mchale? Let's not forget that prior to getting hard carried by Harden Cp3 has never gotten past 2nd round.

CP3 is a brilliant regular season player but he is extremely flawed to be counted on to carry his share of the load in the playoffs. He'll give your team a high floor due to his bball IQ but his max contract coupled with his barely 6 ft height gives your team a low ceiling as well, you paying CP3 the same salary as other teams are paying Lebron and KD. Dude averaged 21 7 5 as the first option in the playoffs...yeah that's great in a vacuum but then you realize he's making 40M that's not nearly enough production for the percentage of salary cap he's taking.

We took a gamble on WB and it failed, at least there was a chance to win it all there unlike with Cp3.

There was no chance to win it all with Westbrook. That trade was just change for the sake of change, due to a frustrated and impatient Fertita. Lots of people actually considered it a downgrade even at the time of the trade. Westbrook was a chucker with bad defense for years, he wasn't going to take us to the promised land.

Nah. His trajectory from 2017 to 2019 was trending downwards. Not just the performance but he was only playing 56 or whatever games a season. And at the end of 2019 season he looked completely spent - he had a bad regular season by his standards and struggled in the playoffs, with a lot of years to run on his deal.

The 2020 season with the unprecedented 4.5 month break plus bubble for him was unforeseeable but it was perfectly designed to rehab his career and he ends up playing 70+ games.

This year while he's still playing well it seems like he's more like the 2019 version of productivity than the 2020.

I'm not defending the disastrous Westbrook deal, but waiting for a magic CP3 renaissance seemed unlikely in Summer 2019 - it was defensible to want to try something else (just...not that.)

19 assist by the point GAWD

Light years better then WB and Wall, aging like fine wine ala Nash/Stockton, getting the Suns over the hump from being a Kings level team, now they are a legit level playoff team.

Suns haven’t been in the playoffs for 11 YEARS. There’s 6th graders walking around who’ve never lived a day of PHX Suns success

just plain stupid from day 1 giving this guy up. he went into the summer just before being traded motivated and was already prepping for the year with houston with ultimately was okc. Tilman is just a straight dumbass and the rockets future was ruined since he stepped foot here

Should have just have traded harden and kept him. Maybe we could have gotten Ingram+ picks.
