Yes, that is too much but it gets us above the cap apron and avoids the floor penalties....let CP3 mentor whomever is at PG, Amen, KPJ, Scoot whomever for 3/4s a year then CUT CP3 and let him go to a playoff team of his choice.

This will let us reset our cap space for next year's class.......

I think the Rox might look to do something like this, or take on Ben Simmons contract and kick the caproom down the road for 2 years.

If we can't get some serious FA's this year - thanks to Ty for the CP3 thought.......and the cutting ....to free up space next year.

Would absolutely love CP3 to mentor the young guys as a whole, but there's no way he comes here and I don't blame him

Why would he bother? The question is moot. Some contending team will find a way to sign / trade for him.

CP3 is going to the LA Lakers with Lebron and AD and they could very well win it all.

Lol at the possibility of CP3 wasting one of his last productive years, by choice, on a team owned by Tillman Fertitta that won just over 20 games last year. Lol.

You guys miss the part about us promising to CUT CP3 in February so he can join another team and compete for a ring?

I think there are a lot of reasons why this isn't likely to happen, which others can talk about.

But one thing I'm thinking about is that I *believe* there is a new rule in the CBA about luxury tax teams being unable to pursue players that were waived during the year. This only involves the 2nd apron, so maybe that's not a lot of teams (I'm too lazy to figure out who might be over the 2nd apron), but just wanted to point out it might not be easy for guys like CP3 to just join any championship level team during that part of the season.

Someone can correct me if I'm wrong about that, but I recall reading something like that in the new CBA summaries.

I don't actually know if that's allowed, but why would the Rockets do a half-season rental/what would be CP3's incentive to even show up in this case? He should save himself for his next team. This doesn't work.

Why wouldn’t CP3 just sign with a contender for a whole year? Please don’t say money. Teams can find the money.

My question is...... whom are you appealing to ?

    CP3 himself
    The Rockets FO and organization?

That is not a problem. Never has been and never will be. So it's irrelevant to the CP3 discussion.

I would love to have him but I know he would laugh at any offers we make after the way he was treated.

Yes! Would rather have him over Harden. Harden's ceiling is a second round exit.

    First, Jim Mora playoffs speech

Second, not that it matters, but can you tell me when the Phoenix Suns left the last 2 playoffs?

IMHO they would be much better off giving up some low level assets for Conley or Caruso, besides CP3 ain’t signing here.

Why wouldn't he just spend the whole year with LA?

What is not to like about it? Maybe even a 2 year deal. He will just gets Wall’s allowance. We need the menty. I would like to get Wallace, Black, Hood-Schifino or Scoot if he is there at 4 (the cost trade up to much for him). No to Amen, years away, if ever. Take the surest thing and don’t over think it or trade the 4th pick away.

How to get the lead guard of the future…. Trade Eason to the Mavericks for #10. 2 of 3 should be there.
