Sorry, yeah, you're right. He's a rookie... Oh FWIW, I met a BUNCH of UTEP Miners fans at the Kroger a few weekends ago when they came to Dallas for the game. You guys are CRAZY
With Thurman Thomas and Jim Kelly in the house for Monday night football, they bought back the spirit of the choking 90's Bills teams with them. Nice!
Heh, we had a hell of a tailgate before the SMU game. My sis is the VP of the UTEP Alumni DFW Chapter and basically put the whole thing together. She was stressed as hell, but it went off without a hitch. And then of course, the game itself was exciting as hell. Came back from 21 down to win in overtime... Here's me and my family after the game...
No sir, I'm making a point: I'm a lifelong fan who was at one point dumb enough to cheer for a potentially fatal injury. And that means in my long list of sports teams, the cowboys only above the braves for my scorn. Not even tofu. I don't like #81, but I also felt really bad for him during his alleged suicide attempt. It seems that a large number of people who root for Philly didn't feel the same way. Shame, but oh well. I'm done here; I've made my point. I'm a lifelong cowboys hater and a lifelong Eagles fan. This game was particularly harsh; I can't stand seeing an overrated, undrafted QB pull out a ridiculous, last-second victory to all but erase any chances Philly has of winning the division. Yeah, I know they say "any given Sunday," but that was just too much. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/nfl/news/1999/10/11/philly_fans_ap/
Cheer up. At least you got to see your team play in the ugliest uniforms in the history of organized sports. AND you got to see McNabb sacked TWELVE TIMES by a division rival. All that, and the Uggles STILL have not yet had their turn to get spanked by the Cowboys twice this year, but it's a-comin'. Say, were you a Phillies fan too, by any chance? That would be too sweet.
I still find that really fishy. You really think TO would commit suicide? And if it was really a suicide attempt, do you really think he'd be able to play in an NFL game just 4 days later. http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/news/story?id=2604395
Yeah it certainly was, what the heck were the officials thinking?? Man the 'Boys have had to play in some horribly officiated games this year. Amazing luck that they escaped this one. They need to get on the plane quick before the cops arrest them for stealing.. But 'W's taste sweet, no matter how they come. Gonna be hard to get to sleep tonight...
It looked like Newman was running in mud. No way his foot is even close to being 100%. If he's healthy, that's a TD.
What about the late hit out of bounds, collar pulldown, and facemask all in one play? Ofcourse the officials only saw the 5yard facemask. But I'm sure there'll be a fine to that cowboy for the collar grab. I'm still in awe that the Cowboys won this game, man...the Bills SUCK.
Tell me about man. I have a damn midterm tomorrow and I haven't even started studying. Can't get the game out of my mind.
Yeah. You're a real upstanding citizen for posting that article. Tell me... did you find it uneasy to watch as Irvin jumped for joy in the Jones suite in Buffalo on Monday night? Did you boo his ability to move his limbs? Philly gets what it deserves... no titles in how many years? You've all planted those seeds. The harvest is nowhere near reaped.
Yeah, we did get to see. Pretty sweet, huh? To have so many things go wrong and still manage to lead the team to a win. You were so right.
Well, next week should be a good game. Cowboys finally play a REAL team. They haven't played a decent team since the pre season. Bills...wow...still can't get over it. 6 Tomo TO's.
Okay, I lied. Those Yellow Jackets unis were abysmal. And if you think watching McNabb get sacked twelve times by the giants was bad, I can beat that: my cousin (who lives in Philly) married a giants fan. Even worse, he bought my uncle and aunt's old house and hung a big giants flag up there. Yeah, I already know they'll get spanked twice. And my cheesesteak of suffering is rolling strong at 8905 days, 0 hours, 20 minutes, and 10 seconds. I like the Phils; I like the Phils a LOT. But I'm a much bigger Astros fan than Phillies fan. My dad is the one from Philly, and he converted to an Astros fan after, I suppose, years of futility. Of course, having the saintly Craig Biggio didn't hurt things. And thanks to the 76ers, he doesn't really care at all about basketball. But he (and I, for some reason) just could never be convinced to support the Oilers/Texans over the Eagles. I don't even think seeing VY in the #10 Texans jersey could've done it. I agree to an extent. I don't think he did, but the signs at the game afterwards were still pretty crappy. I was at North Texas at the time, and my boss (lifelong cowboys fan who hates tofu and even came up with the name tofu [spell tofu, and you'll get it]) and I talked about it. While we both thought that his publicist's comment was a little idiotic, we figured there was something else to the story. Still, if I can play devil's advocate try this: if he DID attempt suicide and later change is mind, from a PR perspective, he'd HAVE to play in the next game to get people off his back.
Some of you are saying that the cowboys shouldnt have won the game with 6 turnovers, but the bills scored only 3 points on offense, how do you win if you cant do nothing on offense. And Tony Romo threw for 309 yds and 0 sacks, despite the 5 int and the fumble, thats a good game for a QB. Tony Romo set a single-season team record with four 300-yard passing games in a season. And the Bills played awful in the last pass of the game, because they gave a lot of yards and the sidelines, to move the ball and stop the clock.
