Hey RC you will have to bring the karma today. I will be at work watching and wont be able to post. Just wanted to say the Cowboys SUCKED on the first drive! What kind of play was that on 4th and 2?
Man!!! The Texans show improvement each week, but the Cowboys are regressing. What in hell were they doing trying that fake punt?! LOL!!! If you have any qualls with that read Hottoddie's comparison post, that tells the whole story like it or not.
I almost forgot about this thing. I've had a somewhat busy weekend and haven't been on much. As for the game, Galloway looks real good. Larry Allen, although I like him, is having some problems, imo. We need a FB. Thomas sucks big time. He can't block no one. QC looks good again. Emmit made a few nice runs, but the blocking still isn't too good for running. Now for the coaches. They are sucking big time. Right now, it could be 16-14 at least. (if we could have made the FG. I guess it wasn't their fault, though.) But they are pretty stupid with the calls and its 14-7. The two 4th down plays were just plain stupid. Defense is somewhat ok. We are getting burned, though. BTW, what did yall think about the call near the beginning with Carter being down or not? I can't remember if he would have made it anyway, but I don't think he was down by contact from the first guy touching him. He could have gone 30 yards untouched and hit the ground and he would have been "down by contact," according to that. I don't really agree with that so much. QC has been improving and has done very well. Galloway is starting to be his "old" self. Some of our younger players are stepping in and doing well. Now, as for the coaches decisions, they probably have regressed. I just think that they have progressed and not regressed. But I'll admit they are still making dumb mistakes.
If you watch closely, the defender misses at first, but hits Carter's left foot just enough to push it into his right foot, causing him to trip. It was the right call.
When I saw it, I saw him get touched. However, Carter went a step or two unaffected by the touch. He just lost his footing and fell, imo. He didn't appear to turn or stumble BECAUSE of the touch. But maybe I'm just being biased...
I thought so too. But one of the replays shows those two steps occuring as the defender was missing his right foot, then hit the left foot and pushed it juuust enough to tip it into the right.
I already forgot the replay, so I'll give this up. Like I said, it wouldn't have mattered anyway since he was tackled short anyway. Good day for Emmit. 5.8 ypc is pretty good for me. If only Thomas could block, he'd have more.
maybe its just me, but i find it funny that a thread titled "Cowboys Suck!" has transformed into a gameday discussion thread for Dallas.
Yes, I was going to make a new thread, but this one already was being used for the game, in a way. Plus I was too lazy to make another one. Sorry ROckets03, I let you down.
Time for me to pull a ROckets03: Man Carter sucks. So what if he lead his team to a score and threw a TD. He sucks. Hehe... Now my turn: Carter did very well. Did you see that throw? It was pretty much perfect. Nice catch as well. Carter is playing well.
Chalk this one up for the coaches, imo. Dumb decisions that cost them the game. BTW, what did yall think about Carter's throw? I think his throw was good but Bryant messed up by hesitating/slowing down. Had he not, they could have won. There's that word again.
At least they aren't as bad as the Bengals, Titans, Vikings, Rams, etc. There are a lot of teams who are worse.
Carter overthrew that pass to Bryant. I would blame Carter, not Bryant, for that botched play. Oh, yeah. Regarding this game: Close only counts in horsehoes, handgrenades, and thermonuclear war.
Thinking about it more, I think it was 50/50. Bryant started looking up a little bit and that may have slowed him down a bit. Just a few more inches and a catch was possible. Still, it probably should have been a little better throw. However, I don't want to hear any "Carter sucks" stuff because he played very well today, and has for several weeks now. BTW, I was focusing on could, not close. And I was trying to show that could means nothing. I know it doesn't count. Looking at the stat sheet, it says 21-17. I should ghave explained that better.
