It won't do them any good. All they will do is take a WR like they did the past few years. And it seen like who every the Lions take they don't become great players.
win-win for both sides dallas just improved their recieving corp with owens, williams, crayton, austin, and witten now and detroit got 1st,3rd, and 6th round picks! but i do agree with what some of you guys said earlier, owens won't be too happy with another reciever demanding the ball on the other side dont like the cowboys, but they did get better still hope they do bad though
he's great when you compare him to a david carr. yeah...i guess we have different definitions of great and good. another argument for another day.
of course..and roy has to perform and stay healthy. i'm just not sure roy williams is worth a #1 and #3. this isn't the NBA. 3rd rounders contribute significantly in the NFL. whether they convert the picks is up to them...but it doesn't change the value of the deal.
new GM now. but it doesn't matter. the value isn't who the lions would take...but the draft picks the cowboys won't have. the players they could have chosen at those spots.
Really? I don't think so look at Matt Cassel. He has the best WR in the game and can't even get the ball to him. On top of that he has a great line too.
I traded Eddie Royal for Roy Williams 2 days ago knowing/hoping a deal was in the works for Roy to leave Detroit. I was hoping he was gonna go to the Eagles or 49ers or Titans even. I don't know how he's going to fit in Dallas with Barber/Jones/Witten/TO that's a lot of grubby hungry hands that want to be fed. Patrick "fisheyes" Crayton and Miles Austin go back to irrelevancy.
Yeah, I was pissed when it was first reported that Dallas got him for two 2nds (what we paid to get Schaub). I'm happier now that it's a lot more steep for the Cows. The skill position players the Cowboys have around Romo is beyond sick. Jones must be really struggling to sell tickets to Jerry World - he needs a Super Bowl this year and is trying to straight out buy one. p.s. I hate Dallas, my only hope now is that they get their expectations so sky high that the disappointment of a playoff loss will sting that much more
Now you're just being a homer. Calvin Johnson is 16th in the league in receiving and is developing into an elite receiver. Sure Mike Williams and Charles Rogers didn't work out but Roy and Calvin did. 50% ain't bad in the draft in my book.
I hope the Lions do well with their draft picks. I just hate when I get my hopes up for them every year and they let me down just like Michigan.
So now, when the cowboys inevitably choke in the 1st round of the playoffs this year, they will only have a low 2nd, 4th, and 5th round pick in the draft.
How am I a homer? The Lions are my team I live in Detroit. I picked them to make the playoffs this year.
Exactly. Marion Barber, Frank Gore, Jared Allen, Chris Cooley, and I could go on and on. These are all players chosen with second day picks.
They're negotiating a long-term deal - prolly got the framework done before they completed the trade. Roy said he wanted to play in Texas earlier this year. The Cowboys oblige him in a big way.
