Kareem thinks so, too. https://kareem.substack.com/p/dear-lebron-heres-the-covid-19-help Dear LeBron: Here’s the COVID-19 Help You Requested in Your Spider-Man Meme You're Welcome LeBron James is not only one of the greatest basketball players ever, he’s committed to being a leader in the African American community in the fight against inequality. But his Thursday Instagram meme showing three cartoon Spider-Men pointing at each other—one labeled “covid,” one labeled “flu,” one labeled “cold”—with his message: “Help me out folks” was a blow to his worthy legacy. The meme’s implication is that LeBron doesn’t understand the difference among these three illnesses, even after all the information that’s been presented in the press. Well, since he asked, let me help him out by explaining the difference—and how knowing that difference might save lives, especially in the Black community.
Rockets Legends Chris Clemons and Cam Oliver signed by Hawks, a family reunion with Clint, Thanks Covid!
Tonight's Heat-Spurs game is postponed since the Heat can't put a team together of 8 due to injuries and coronavirus. I wonder if the Rockets-Heat game on Friday is still going to happen. I wish NBA would take a 2 week hiatus and get all the teams semi healthy again. It sucks that all these teams are having to play with replacement players and that players are in and out of the line up. What a mess.
Yep some tickets cost a couple hundred dollars and more. If we wanted to watch the G Leaguers in place of the stars play, we'd go to a g league game and pay Gleague prices.
Omicron is likely going to be around for much of January, if not beyond. I'm not sure 2 weeks helps any - Omicron is everywhere so I don't think all these players are just contracting it on the court.
If even a fully vaccinated league needs to shut down every winter, I'd say just let them play and have the crowd sign liability wavers. Rona isn't going away, either learn to live with it or watch as the league withers away from half-seasons and work stoppages.
Again, pretty sure the healthy players don't want to be a court with covid-positive players. So this would be a great signal from the NBA that they don't care about their employees. And maybe an OSHA violation for not creating a safe workplace.
Has there been a severe case of omicron in someone under 60 who was vaccinated or previously infected? I honestly don't know.
