would be nice if it’s a study. Not the full blown peer reviewed one as those take some time and in a crisis everyone has now lowered the bar to release non peer reviewed study fast and peer review them later. There have been a few such actual study that have been released in this area. The asym ranges from 1% to 30%. Wild huh. as I said previously about this very “data” from us prison, it’s a great opportunity (lab rat) for a serious study... until then, this “data” is def interesting enough to trigger follow up but not taken as a driver of policy
Nowhere in the world has anyone done random sampling antibody tests and found a majority of people infected. California did a few tests and found 3%. NYC was at the high end around 20% I think? Sweden is hoping it's around 15-20% now. Some small German city found 20% I think. Most other places are way lower. So, no, it's really not likely that you or I have already been infected.
Your overall point is clearly correct but NYC’s last antibody test implied 24.7% was already infected. https://www.nbcnewyork.com/news/loc...ily-deaths-hit-lowest-level-in-weeks/2390949/
https://www.themarshallproject.org/ That is a good site to use that keeps up with the current covid outbreak in prisons
I work for a O&G terminal.About 20 of us in the office, on corporate side, have been working from home for six weeks. 60 or so work at the terminal and have been going in to keep product flowing. We got an email on Wednesday that we would be going back to the office on May 14th. Last night I was starting our financial close and spoke to the logistics manager at terminal on some items I needed. I asked him how things were down there, he said no big deal, everything seemed fine. People can kinda keep their distance, so no big deal. Woke up today with a company wide email “in memory”. The guy I spoke too literally dropped dead last night. No warning, brief illness, dead. 35-40 years old.
Thx. But that site does not show asymptomatic rate. I like to see true asymptomatic rate and that's only possible if the population is closely monitored for the duration of the incubation period.
"That matches a description of the incident described in an arrest affidavit for Brandon James Hicks, who faces a charge of attempted assault on a public servant." 'Attempted?' The dude literally put his hands on the park ranger and pushed him into the water. I don't know what the definition of assault is, with regards to this law, but that seems like assault to me. I read that this might result in jail time for the perpetrator, and to that, I say YES.
The Austin subreddit was in an uproar when this was posted. It's spread to multiple other subreddits, all hitting the front page. Everyone wants his head to roll for being a douche. He also has a public intoxication charge from March.

Still way better than Oklahoma. Oklahoma city ends face mask rule for shoppers after store employees are threatened
Between the dipsh!t MAGAts and their "freedom" and the dumbass millennials and their indifference, we're pretty much screwed. “Y’all got your masks?” a man jokingly yelled at a group of college students standing in the water at Commons Ford Ranch Metropolitan Park. “Yeah, they’re invisible!” the women joked back, and the group laughed together. No one at the park, including them, was wearing a mask or appeared to be keeping at least 6 feet of distance from others Saturday afternoon. ... Ashley Siegfried, 25, said she and her friends planned to continue practicing social distancing from strangers since Abbott lifted the stay-at-home order, but they would not wear masks in public. Danielle Meyer, at Commons Ford Ranch park, said she and her friends drove to Austin from Houston on a day trip to enjoy the nice weather. “We live really close to each other, so we’ve all just gone to each other’s houses during the whole quarantine,” Meyer, 25, said. “We have not actually been social distancing since it started.” “To each his own, but ... none of us have ever worn a mask at the grocery store or anywhere else,” Siegfried said. “Just keep your distance; don’t touch your face; wash your hands.” https://www.statesman.com/news/2020...day-after-statewide-stay-at-home-order-lifted
It's possible. One of the sailors on the USS Theodore Roosevelt who had tested positive died very suddenly. We still know very little about this virus.
