To whoever posted the link for some masks, thank u. I had made my own, but after each use I gotta toss it in the washer. The one I made gets uncomfortable as hell around the ears after awhile if I wear it for an extended amount of time. I’d prefer using a disposable mask instead.
The current CDC recommendation is to leave "medical" or N95 masks to health care workers. People can wear any type of masks, home-made cloth face covering included. Before: wearing mask should only be needed if you are sick so you can don't spread it. After: new evidence is people with NO symptoms can unknowingly spread it (by a huge factor), so everyone should wear mask in public (but leave N95 to health worker)
Yeah, after reading this I'm thinking herd immunity and re-opening the economy en masse is not a good idea: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-...ents-unable-to-shed-coronavirus-idUSKCN2240HI Too much is not known about this d@mn virus. Man, now I really don't want to catch this thing. Dear world, please take bat soup and pangolin pie permanently off the menu.
Just watched a research town hall via UCSF including a short talk by Charles Chiu on diagnostics and genomic epidemiology in Cali. Observations: 1. His new CRISPR test (front page NYT today) is working well in his lab and could be a game changer, BUT Mrs B-Bob points out he says quietly that the RNA extraction from the patient sample is still a separate process. It doesn’t seem ready to deploy until that critical piece of the process could be included, but it’s very accurate and could eventually greatly increase ease and wide deployment of testing. 2. NoCal actually nearly all of the SARS-Cov-2 strains spreading around, including the main one from WA and the more European one from NY. It varies literally county by county which strain is prevalent! He said the differences are very slight and he doubts they are functional. He did note the new Chinese preprint though, just that it was in lab dishes and not in humans.
Weird. The official California State Govt. site currently has the total tested @ 308,700 and not the 465,000+. See https://covid19.ca.gov/ for "latest" numbers.
Asian countries have been wearing masks for years. I think this will be the norm where we will see 1 in 10 will be wearing a mask when they get sick. What is up with people buy cars and trucks?!?!?!? Since Hurricane Harvey, I've never seen so many new tags on cars and trucks.

Was just thinking about the mask order and all the Karen’s who will be flooding law enforcement with calls about people not obeying the mask order. I mean, what is even logistically possible from LE? Even during regular times HPD response times for “non-serious” type crimes is abysmal.
While nothing against you, any study from China is close to meaningless. Even before all this research from China was viewed as unreliable. Now the CCP is controlling the release of all research with even more scrutiny.
Who gives a **** what the Houston Police Officers Union thinks? Joe Gamaldi has been in trouble in the past. Do you have a law degree Joe? If not worry about your JOB, which is taking orders abs not giving them.
