Is this 1000 dollars thing not happening? I didn't see it in the relief bill.

Is it worse than we think right now? I mean for Vegas to close is huge. I never believe into the media frenzy but shutting down Vegas is making me believe into the frenzy.

That could be huge, if true. I'm confused about just what kind of infected person received it, though. I'm guessing that they were talking about two types of people with the virus. Those who test positive, but have no symptoms yet, or symptoms in an early stage, and those worse off getting it for treatment. I assume those last would be the people with "confirmed improvements in lung conditions in about 91 percent of the patients who were given the medicine."

Anyone know more about this? Availability? If it works, is it going to be 6 or 8 weeks before our government insures that the drug is widely available? Let's hope not, and let's hope the drug is as good as it sounds. Fingers crossed. Nice find, Robbie.

It has been around since 2013 and also was tried with Ebola. I saw their stock was up 20% which I believe is the limit for Japan so this might have something to it. I also edited my original post because I thought it was very interesting that China is formally recommending a Japanese drug.

Y’all better cross your fingers the anti-virals work and relatively fast tracked.

otherwise it’s like 18 months until vaccines arrive.

in the best case scenario there we go full authoritative quarantines, people pay attention, death counts from this specifically are low but economic impact and anarchy increase a bit, and even if you get down to 0 new cases a day, at best you are allowing people out again until it starts back up because of some spread somewhere and rinse, wash, repeat until the vaccine. But the upside here is definitely that the number of deaths is very “acceptable”. Thousands, turns of thousands... see China.

or at worst nobody does anything - still close to where we are in the US - and millions die, plus millions more from normal everday diseases that are now on the back burner (imagine randomly getting say cancer in the next 3 months... good luck!), plus many more from the economic fallout.

Not my numbers. Seen it modeled a few places.

and we know China modeled it based on how they attacked it.

So if there’s any hope for “society” as we know it the next 18 months... it’s anti-vitals. If companies need money to figure that out, give them money. Do whatever it takes.

find a super effective anti-viral and get it out to the population in mass, take a 3-4 month legit quarantine, and we can “return to life”.

fwiw: that's the upper estimate per Fauci and others. And it's the upper estimate they place on vaccines where Day 0 is when they get a genome sequence. And per Fauci, Day 0 was 66 days ago, so we are a little over 2 months into the time period previously estimated.

China and Japan relations are at a high point right now. When China was in crisis mode and had to lock down the country, Japan showed empathy and support instead of getting political and trying to finger point like certain people (*ahem Trump*). Who knew that COVID19 would warm relations between the two bitter wartime neighbors, that Trump would advocate socialism with his $1,000 citizen payout, and that the UK would have the worst pandemic response plan in the world? What a strange time to be alive!

We are using chloroquine here too.

Also in Marseilles ,France they administered 600 mg daily to patients and they were virus free in 6 days. They are even trying it now in a french MP.

Here too its mostly similar circumstances except no.1.
The problem isnt the 30-60 year olds. They mostly have understood and follow the rules.
The problem is the teenagers-20s and the over 60s themselves.
There are old men taking the streets because
" I rather die from coronavirus outside than be locked up with the real virus my wife"
    Or
" If it is my time to go, I will go"

I mean usually you hardly saw any people exercising in parks.
Now all of a sudden everyone has discovered the outside.
    Group dog walkings,
fatsos who never moved their butts suddendly believe they must walk 20 kilometers every day,
Couch potatoes taking up mountain hiking.

They even went to swim in March which before you only saw some crazy german and scadinavian tourists with sock sandals do and we made fun of them.

Thats why we must be locked down asap.

The EU commisioner said they are expecting it around September.

But what kind of vaccine will that be?
A good vaccine shows reaction in 1 in 100.000 people. Thats why they take years with clinical trials in humans.
The new vaccine? With rushed up trials?
