Anything by Foxes and Fossils. Be careful though once you start down the rabbit hole, you will be stuck watching all their live performances and just marveling at the musicianship. DD
Again, not better than original, but enjoy a lot of Laura Cox's guitar work and her vocals on this Fleetwood Mac classic are pretty well suited (she is French, btw). The acoustic guitar is just OK... but love the slide guitar work.
Ok, only really like the first pitch perfect movie... but whoa, not only is this a fun remake but whew... some of the pitch perfect cast are looking pretty good in this video.
I do not know if this has been played yet...but I do remember when I heard these guys rock this song live years ago...and I just got reminded of it, and how much I love them:
I have been attracted to her for years (since she was in Rocket Science). Not beautiful and the isn't blessed with much but something about her (girl next door, funny as all get out) and yea, that dress. The actress from the True Grit remake is also smoking hot in this video. Plus the two other main actresses from Pitch Perfect. Fun video.
Give it a chance, especially considering the STYX forum. The lead singer came out recently & said that South Park single-handedly resurrected their discography. And hearing Cartman get into the end with the "you guys" is funny.
I never understood why people didn't think she looked good. I think she does. And she's got a personality, seems non-Hollywood, and doesn't seem stuck up. But then I don't follow this stuff, so I don't know.
I love a cappella (and its closely-related Clint Capela). Home Free is great, so is Pentatonix (one of my favorite). Avi Kaplan left Pentatonix but teamed up with Tim Foust of Home Free for a "Ring of Fire" remake. Their voices are sick, and when the bass drops it's silly : Straight No Chaser is another good one :
Sorry... I'm a Home Free fan, so one more I just thought of where Foust went into a ditch to hit a bass note with the Oak Ridge Boys... and yes, I think this is better than the original. All-the-more special because Home Free sang it with the Oak Ridge Boys :
Not better than but interesting versions of a Joy Division song probably hundreds of bands have covered.
