We need more passionate and tough fans that actually care for the Rockets at the games. What really pisses me off is when fake fans leave the stadium about the half way mark in the 4Q.
How about fans who try to make money off of tickets they got for free? What's your thoughts on those type of fans?
man he really wears his heart on his sleeve. that can be good or bad.... but because ariza sucks, it's bad.
I'd like to know that as well. Seems to be an unethical way of doing things around on the CF, GLEN RICE or should I say A-rash
For once, it wasn't Ariza's fault. Brooks and Landry couldn't even make a decent pass on that possession, resulting in a backcourt violation.
I am curious, what exactly is it that Ariza has done to suggest he has a chip on his shoulder or a poor attitude?
Ariza needs to keep his emotions in check, he has good intentions, but gets way too frustrated, which affects him and his teammates negatively
Maybe some of the fans should keep some of the r****ded comments in check as well. Come on, "get your head in the game"? That would probably tick me off if some idiot was saying stupid crap like that to me, especially considering I am sure he hears it a lot these days.
I think most NBA players would just acknowledge the comment and laugh it off, or ignore it completely
A player should be able to hold in his/her emotions. Any outburst towards a fan is unnecessary . It happens in any sport....deal with it.
Still doesn't mean it's acceptable for fans to act like idiots, run their mouths, shout whatever they want at NBA players. I agree that most probably wouldn't respond, but I am sure that kind of garbage gets old after a while, especially the way people have been riding him this season (pretty much non stop).
I understand what you guys are saying. He shouldn't have responded, but you know he is human just like any of the rest of us. I am sure he is catching a ton of crap right now and it might get to him at times. Just because he is in the NBA doesn't mean he is a stone cold robot and people can just say whatever garbage that might come to mind whenever they want. Fans at games act like complete fools (not all of them, but a lot), like it's some sort of acceptable behavior, and even as a fan myself, it gets old. People just think it's ok, just say whatever you want, but it's not, act like adults, not hooligans.
the op should clarify on the way the fan said it first. was it a motivational "come on trevor get your head in the game " *clap clap* or an angered "get your head in the game " in a temperamental sort of way.
That's awesome. I just don't see it for this team at the small forward position. I loved the Battier trade when it happened, but honestly, I wouldn't mind having a Rudy Gay type player right now. Sure sometimes he's a bone head, like giving Bryant that 3, but he's becoming an infinitely better leader than one Trevor Ariza. The guy deserves the boatload of money that he's going to be getting. I know that he and Mayo have problems, but I like seeing players who care, rather than chuckers who want to establish themselves as "stars." I don't dislike Ariza as some others do, but I question the guy's motivation for coming here in the first place, and I also think that he needs a break and a more capable offensive player to be effective. I know that he gambles a lot, but I do like his defense which is obviously better than Gay's. If I had to choose one however, I prefer a more capable offensive player as the team's small forward going forward.
Man that is bullisht. The players are human beings, not highly disciplined and trained monks or soldiers that should be able to block out all external distractions or senses not related to the game or just accept fan abuse with a stiff upper lip. And unlike all other sports, save soccer, basketball players are closer to their fans and don't have head gear to drown out hecklers. Frankly, as a fan, you really should expect to hear a lot of swearing when you are that close to the players. These aren't boy scouts, they are at times extremely passionate grown men often playing for more money most will see in their lives. Talking back to a fan is well within his right, it isn't as if he started the conversation, nor did he really escalate it to a inappropriate level. Honestly, this goes on at probably nearly every NBA game, the fan should be happy he was seated close enough for Ariza to hear him and next time, should try to say something productive.
