Haha, wow, you do a good job of making yourself look silly. I remember you were so excited when the Rockets traded Ariza and you were so confident that the Rockets would be just fine with Battier in the starting lineup. As usual, you're were wrong. One would think that will all your tens of thousands of posts you would be right once, but from what I've read and seen, you have quite an impressive track record of being wrong, lol. That's some accomplishment.
Well the problem is he is smaller but yes metterthan Battier in all regards offense and defense. Had morey traded for the SF version of Courtney Lee? This wouold have been outstanding for us. As it is we need to start Courtney Lee for defense but that means trading Kevin Martin for a scoring Sf. Maybe it means starting Lee and Martin but that makes us even smaller. So one of those things need to happen. Maybe we need to start Courtnety lee over Aaron Brooks? Yao Scola Battier Martin Lee Then in that way we are also balanced. You want more offense you say? Well we fix two problems with this lineup. Yao Scola Budinger Martin Lee Defense, offense, size, shooting, athleticism. Everything you need wit that second lineup if Adelman had any vision for a lineup like that. I dont believe in set positions. For one? Brooks cant pass and is a SG like Courney Lee is. So Lee taking his spot and adding size is no different than having Brooks there starting to me. You say it causes friction? I say that makes Brooks trade material since hiscontract is coming up and the move also brings his money demands down.
this is the answer. Battier will probably have to stick to guarding SFs and some of the larger SGs, while Lee can take up the slack with quicker guards. it's a moot point because RA will most likely keep this starting lineup exactly the way it is, come hell or high water (or evidence of it's inefficacy) until he is forced to alter it due to injury or trade.
If Battier is 6'9", then he match up with Durant and LeBron James and PFs like Dirk. He ain't that big.
Battier is more like 6'8. Question is, who would you rather have guard Kobe in the last seconds? LeBron? Melo? Durant? Wade? Pierce?
Lee on all of those except Lebron and Melo. I dont want Battier even then still. Maybe we can see if Patterson can play defense because Battier is gtting toasted just that bad. I mean we could put Lee on everyone of those guys and probably get the same results or better at least and at least some scoring or steals.
