Yep, and that is poison on a team when a guy thinks he is way better than he actually is...

Rose was still the reason they won, he did a good job, but not good enough.

i loved the switch to have lee guard rose late in the game. sometimes a new look defensivley can throw a player off late in the game - good call, but our interior defense again let chicago win the game.

lee is our best three point shooter this season.

it is no coincidence that each of our choked away losses this season have featured courtney lee as the leading culprit.......whether it's choking on 2 freethrows, dribbling out of bounds, or failing to foul your man even when the coach instructed you to -- courtney lee is proof positive that losers somehow someway always find a way to lose

Oh no, but he got a game ball for the other 31 finely played possessions.

Its called minimization of impact. Basically, every play or player is created equal which is false. Morey has been doing this with these stats to justify how the totatlity of the game is the same. Its the same argument we have had about martin disappering in the 4th qt. All plays and points aren't created equal.

Ah, well it sucks, if you are going to give away all the benefits you gave to the team at the end, then what the hell good are you anyway?

They aren't created equal but the last possession isn't worth all the other poseesions put together. If Courtney Lee indeed had 37 great possesions and choked up the last possession, shouldn't you be looking at other players instead? 12 players on the team contributed to the final score. Focusing on the guy who messed up in the end but played extremely well the whole game while ignoring guys who messed up the entire game is just wrong analysis.

Same thing here with Martin. Martin puts up 22 pts on 12 of 14 shots in the 3rd quarter, he fades in the fourth and just shoots 1-for-4. The Rockets get their ass whupped. Everybody then complains about how "invisible" Martin is or what a choker he is.

Of course if you actually looked at the big picture you'll realize that 13 on 18 shots isn't that bad, and if you ranked the performance of the players you'll see battier shot 1-7 and Hayes just went 2-4 the entire game. Everything is cause and effect, if you lost the game it can't be blamed on just 1 player messing up on the last possession of the game.

Yes glad I'm not the only one who noticed Courtney's stellar D against Rose. He also shot really well, making me regret us trading Ariza a little less :)

Lee is athetic enough to defend PGs on occasions like during the Bulls game but he will not be able to guard the elite PGs long term because they will figure out sooner or later that they are much quicker than him.

it's not true either, the refs tend to try and close games, whether consciously or unconsciously, until a lead blows out to 20, they always give the soft calls one way, it pretty much means points when in front are worth about 1.8 and points from behind are worth about 2.2 until the last 5 mins or so. (i watch a few teams, the celtics for example and i honestly haven't seen a game where the trailing team didn't get at least 1, and usually a cpl calls to try and pull back leads)
