No doubt he is a role player but compare his numbers to that of an early Billups, a journey man. And you see some similarities.
I would give him a few years before I trade him.

Courtney Lee is looking more and more like the best move made last summer.

He to me is a player comparable to Brandon Roy. If he gets consistent minutes who knows what kind of numbers he would put up as he progresses as a player and gains confidence.

From what I read in the Past, I heard many say how much better Ariza was than Lee, I was refering to those fans who think Ariza is better than Lee.

Courtney Lee and the Rockets have an interesting situation on their hands... He is great at what he can provide the Rockets off the bench, and his value as a player.

However his value is ultimately what has led him to be traded twice in three seasons and possibly will be moved again this trade season. He is good enough and should be starting in this league, and is on his rookie contract.

He can be a role player but he also has the ability to be more if given the opportunity. If Martin got injured "knock on wood" you have a great option to plug into the starting lineup and not miss a beat. If Martin stays healthy... well then there is a logjam for minutes which could lead to Lee being dealt because other teams see the amazing value a player like Courtney Lee has.

The Rockets need to upgrade a couple of other positions and look for Lee to be the biggest value piece to add in a trade. Also you have Chase Budinger who I really would like to see play the SG position more. I think he would excell with that position in the future.

If there is no significant deal to be made then Lee will continue to be one of the best insurance policies in the league at the SG spot. Is Lee a really nice player?? ... Yes. Is he a keeper???... probably not if he can upgrade the team in other needed positions.

I guess you never watched Brandon Roy play basketball. Do you think if hid projection was brandon roy he would be coming off the bench playing limited minutes? If he was brandon roy would he get traded for Carter and then again Ariza?

Lee sure seems to be showing up a lot on peoples radar recently. Perhaps he is worth more than previously thought. This, and because I like him, I hope we only consider trading him in a deal for a big piece or for someone with tons of upside.

What I hope we do not do is trade him for still another one-way player that gives back on one side of the floor, what he manages to do on the other.
