I thought he looked god awful. I hold my breath every time he has the ball, praying he won't turn it over. I didnt watch the final 5 minutes, did I miss something?
It isn't entirely meaningless, but it is very inconclusive. Based on my "eye test", Fortson looked OK given he how nervous he must be. He played with energy and effort, has legit speed, wasn't a ballhog like Flynn, made a few decent passes. He demonstrated in the D-league he can bury the open three so long term it seems like he can do the same in the NBA. He made some classic mistakes of a rookie trying to do too much. Under no illusion he is an important long term piece, 50/50 he even makes it past the initial 10 day contract, but he has some tools. He could catch on as a backup somewhere eventually.
I was not impressed at all by Fortson, he looked very ancy. Not very poised, that might vanished after a couple more games however.
He looks like a small version of a child born out of a union between Terrence Williams and Jeremy Lin.
He's a guy that was in the right place at the right time, but does not belong in the NBA with those handles.
Put me down as not impressed. He was picked up as a convenience since we were on the road and needed a guy immediately. Don't tell me there aren't better PGs available to sign. He's simply not an NBA player. I'll be shocked if he's not gone at the end of his 10 days.
I'm surprised no one mentioned that he didn't have his name on his jersey. He looked like a kid who was nervous as hell to be out there. He was erratic handling the ball, he rebounded well considering his shortness and has some wheels. I think he could be decent given another shot. Hard to say he sucked when the rest of the team was garbage. Horrible game all around for us.
his dreads look like they were transplanted off of a larger head... or, he has been victimized by a witch doctor...
This was mentioned during the Clipper game. Rockets were on the road, signed him earlier in the day and just gave him any spare jersey that fit (either that or they just scratched Flynn's name off one). But yeah, surprised they couldn't get one made and send it out to Phoenix overnight. He should have one with his name on it for the next one.
Its weird, quite unorthodox. He is short and he dribbles really low to the ground. Seems like he would be difficult to steal the ball from if he had great control over it (which at times he does not). I do like him as an energy guy off the bench. He has a high motor, hustles and plays with a lot of heart. Overall unimpressive but next to Jonny Flynn, VERY IMPRESSIVE.
He is just a little nervous because all of a sudden he was dropped in the fire. Give him a few games to ease the excitement. Just a kiddo dropped into his dream job and expected to be a key backup
He's as impressive as Twill was. Has the physical tools but he just plays out of control at times. His speed does remind me of Aaron Brooks, if he could be half of what AB gave us as a 3rd srtinger, that would be great. Would like to see more of him.
Not impressed. He looked completely out of his element. I liked his energy, but it is possible that he simply looked super energetic because the rest of the team was completely worn out. There wasn't a single time when he looked like he was in control of what he was doing.
At least it isn't hard to figure out that he's in the game! Sure, he didn't do much, but I'd like to see more of the guy. Lee at the point didn't seem to work very well.
