Lets just say you are in Destin FL for Spring Break, and you are 21, and at a bar, and you meet this hot girl and you take her home to your beach condo. She does things some 35 year olds havent tried yet. In the morning, she accidentally tells you she just got her license. Sex offender? I think not.
Thread with a NSFW link to 19 year old titty (http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/2100/lindsaylohangmnipslip1hg.jpg) is OK for the Hangout. Thread with Reuter story about oral sex BAD for Hangout. Color me confused.
i don't think it's because it's BAD for hangout...but rather that it's spawning some debate over court decisions and legislation...which is better suited for D&D.
but we all down with perjury! Sodomy, Fellatio, Oh, whoa, whoa, whoa-oh, Cunnilingus, Pederasty! Father, why do these words sound so nasty? Masturbation, Can be fun uhn, uhn, uhnnnnn, Join the holy orgy Kama Sutra Everyone!
Perjury, lying, the only way in American politics. I am not a crook. I can't recall. No new taxes. I never inhaled. I didn't have sex, she just gave me a blow job. I either was given bad intelligence or no intelligence at all.
Even though I agree that 22 and 16 is weird, it's ain't pedophilia - pedophilia is being attracted to prepubescent kids, and 16 isn't prepubescent if you've seen the girls at your local mall.
You think that we should have a government registry for teen sex? Would teens get a provisional sex license like a drivers license? Would officers be able to search houses after school to see if teens are having sex without licenses and pull over cars leaving proms to check to see if teens had their sex licenses?
Two of my best friends starting dating each other when she was 17 and he was 23 and they are absolutely perfect for each other. My current gf and I are 5 yrs apart but we connect much better maturity wise than my ex who was only 2 yrs younger than me. It really does depend on the persons involved; each situation is different.
it's not the age difference that's relevant, but rather how old the parties are when they "hook up. when i was 19, i lived with a 35 y/o woman. arguably, i was the more mature of the two, which is less a comment on me, and more a comment on her (she did have the grace to decline my marriage proposal, made at a particularly vulnerable moment). it may also depend on the sex of the younger party. a 16 y/o woman, while she may be ripe physically, is vulnerable to a whole host of emotional and physical entrapments that a young man might not be, and indeed an 18 y/o woman wouldn't be as well. in any case, the statute is idiodic if it treat oral sex as more fraught than intercourse, and in that limited sense the cali court is correct.
Ted Poe said on the radio today in response to this decision that the California Court just doesn't get it. He said that the 22 year old should have to register as a sex offender. No, Ted, you don't seem to get it. The issue at bar was that he would not have to register as a sex offender if he had intercourse with the 16 year old, but he would have to register as a sex offender if she performed oral sex on him. That is frickin' r****ded. I used to have more respect for Ted Poe. While the DJ's may have painted the issue incorrectly for him, the prudent answer would have been "what was the issue again?" or even better "I am not familiar enough with the case to comment.'
Old enough to get married in all 50 states to a 22 year old, with or without a shotgun. All sex after said marriage would clearly be deviant until the bride reached the age of 18. The groom is doomed to burn in hell for an eternity.
Ted Poe went to (may still attend) a church I went to as a kid. He always seemed to be a straight shooter then and I respected his work as a judge, even the stuff that was a little unorthodox. Just because he is a Replublican and I am... well, not doesn't mean that I can't have respect for him. He seems to be catering a lot more lately to the reactionary talk radio crowd than he used to. I do like the fact that more than I thought he might, he seems to "respectfully disagree" with W on a lot of issues.
i disagree, there are plenty of 16 and 17 yr olds that go to the community college i went to. their maturity levels are higher than the 21-22 yr olds. but 6 yrs is a bit far for those two ages.
I am uncomfortable with the CASE BY CASE basis we have to make a hard line in the sand somewhere remember LaTourneau said the 12 yr old she was screwing was MORE MATURE now he is a high school drop out living with his mom with two kids It seems like . . judging by the responses we ready to drop the Age of responsibility to 16 Why not make 16 the age to register with selective service, buy alcohol, etc? Rocket River
it certainly seems like a good idea to lower to alcohol level to 18. either that, or raise the age level of joining the service 21. it's not too often i agree with randi rhodes, but she makes a strong case that boys can be getting shot at in iraq and then come home and not able to be bought a beer for people's appreciation of their service.
