Pram- something that you put babies in when you take them outside. It has 4 wheels. I guess it's an Aussie term....
I'm not sure that this is true. The British have a significantly different attitude about getting waxed and then getting violent. I honestly was totally suprised, since I think we've (America) got a pretty violent culture, but its nothing like it is here. For example, although there are people who get rowdy and drunk at sporting events in the States, over here they get plastered and travel in packs after games beating on whoever, including cops. I can't imagine coming out of the Dome and trying to beat the crap out of a cop. If you took this movie situation, you'd be much more likely to have someone step into the fight in the States. Think about it, you might not step in between two men (not knowing what the scrap was about), but you'd certainly see someone step in if some dude started beating on a woman.
I wonder why no one stepped in to stop the hockey dad fight. The first shoving match was stopped, but the second fight where the guy pinned the other guy on the floor and pounded him to his death.
That's not really comparable since it was two guys one-on-one, and there was intervention in the first altercation. Also it sounds like there were only women around during the second fight? Is that right? The only reports I've seen talk about the women screaming at him that he was going to kill the other guy during the second fight.
I've been to the Alamo Drafthouse here in Austin at least 10 times. They serve beer and liquor, and I've never seen anybody getting their ass kicked...although I wanted to after watching The Others there.
As my dad once said and what Charles Barkley would say, those 14 year old kids deserve one thing. The Parents, and others nearby just should have beat the living crap out of those kids, especially after the parents started fighting. oh well, too bad that scenario could never happen, but it would shut the kids up.
Went and saw brotherhood of the wolves yesterday (good movie - very violent!) and this old guy behind us was essentially doing commentary the whole time, and would be laughing during violent parts or anyhting. I didnt say anything becuase a) I thought he might have some mental problems, and b) I had just read this thread and wasnt being bothered too much. Anyway, go see that movie
