I may be delusional for thinking he might stay, but I feel like LA fans are just as delusional for thinking he will just automatially come to LA because the Lakers are so great Kevin Love said it and he was right - Minn has the better team and better foundation.
He may not bolt for LA considering how far away they are from contending. But he'd be crazy to stay in Minnesota if they're a lotto team this year and next. Unless all that matters to him is the paycheck.
he also grabs what should be opponents' rebounds. every great rebounder is so because they want the ball more than anybody else. also, securing the defensive rebound is a critical part of team defense.
I hate when people throw this "Ryan Anderson type" into trade discussions. Who is a Ryan Anderson type that isn't literally Ryan Anderson, maybe to a lesser extent Channing Frye. People act like dominant 3 point shooting stretch 4's exist everywhere.
My thoughts exactly, but I think what he meant is a player around Ryan Anderson's calibre. Because there are very few players like Ryan Anderson in the league, I'd almost say Anderson is one of a kind
I'm not even sure who qualifies here either? Paul Millsap? He's in this weird borderline all-star situation, and there aren't many power forwards around that caliber in the league. I'm going to reserve my right to assume the guy thought they should go to the stretch 4 tree and pick up a nice Ryan Anderson type.
If I was Kevin Love, I would be re-evaluating on where I would want to go... Do I want to go to LA, sure that's where Hollywood and all the actors are at, but look what Dwight Howard did... He LEFT L.A. to be part of a contending team, the Houston Rockets!! So I guess Love has to ask himself whats more important: Being famous or winning a championship with that NBA team? If winning is more important while having GREAT fans, H-Town is the place to be! If meeting Jack Nicholson every home game is more important, while being part of a sub-par team, then you might as well stay in Minnesota. Yes, RIGHT NOW, Minnesota T-Wolves > LA Fakers. BUT if he wants to play with a great team, that likes to have fun off the court, but is all business on the court, that lays it all on the line each and every night, that can hold their own against the best team's record in the NBA: Miami Heat, and can BEAT them, that has a solid nucleus in Howard/Harden/Parsons/Beverley, I would seize the opportunity in joining forces with H-Town... We are NO joke! We are a force to be reckoned with for a good long time!
But he'll also want to get paid. L.A. will have a buttload of cap space next summer(barring hell freezing over and LeBron signing there this offseason). And Minnesota can go over the cap to retain him. The problem the Rockets face is clearing enough cap room to offer him the kind of money he'll be demanding. Sure, that would be great if the T'Wolves got desperate and accepted a trade offer like the one proposed in the tweet by Jerry Zgoda, but I wouldn't hold my breath on that happening. Bottom line, if Kevin Love is to become a Rocket in 2015, it likely means he'd have to accept less money than L.A. or Minnesota will be offering. Both teams will have to have absolutely horrendous rosters to make him do that.
I think that the Lakers have a good shot at getting Love, but it isn't Lakers or bust. I just cannot see Love staying in Minnesota. They have had him for 6 seasons and have not made the playoffs and honestly it doesn't look that good for the future. Further, why will he want to cut them a break when they wouldn't even give him the extra year? He is in the prime of his career and is going to want to play in a larger market and/or for an organization he has confidence in, and that isn't the Wolves. It isn't anything against the fans but the organization isn't a good one.
No, if he is a Rocket in 2015 it is because he makes it VERY clear to the Wolves that he is NOT resigning and will make the rest of the season hellish.
[rquoter]Kevin Love’s people reiterated to the Timberwolves this past week that they had better trade him or else he’ll leave via free agency when his contract is up after next season. With Love looking to exit, there’s your No. 1 reason the T-wolves have not been able to find a head coach to take over for Rick Adelman. Love wants to play for the Lakers but he’s also open to coming to the Knicks. http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/basketball/lawrence-dolan-gilbert-meddling-hazard-teams-health-article-1.1796220[/rquoter]

One leftover thought from Chicago combine: Wolves talked to enough power forwards and guys who could go top 6-8 to make you go hmmmmmm....
— Jerry Zgoda (@JerryZgoda) May 17, 2014

I think you have to take his destinations from the NY Daily news with a grain of salt. The only reason I see him in LA is because he knows Westbrook will, which is probably better news for us in the long run. He's certainly not going there to be alone.
